Lots, but I like doing heavier sets.
I use whatever the heaviest weight I can handle with good form is with that exercise and work to having only 2 reps left in the tank.
But what is the kg?
The muscle only knows contractions. If you use momentum then a heavier weight will induce less muscle contractions than a lighter weight without momentum...
So does it matter what weight?
Yes to build muscle
It's obviously not true. Like I already said, you could even use a forklift to bump the weight up and down... does it matter if it's 690 kilograms? And you didn't even specify the movement. One legged deadlift? Or bilateral leg press?
Look at eugene sandow, is the one on the Mr. Olympia medal statue.. and he was said to be seen as a weakling when he was little, so it's not genetics. He was a proponent of less weight and more conscious muscle contractions.
Seriously, your body likes the path of least resistance. So as soon as you build just enough muscle to handle something, it will stop growing. Increasing weight won't necessarily make them grow. It's not good or bad, it's all about what your goal is. If you want to maximize muscle growth then don't focus just on weight.
Why do you think exist what's known as "newbie gains"? When you first start exercising you put on 15 pounds in 2 months. It's because your muscles are being challenged from a different "angle" so to say. So once you hit a plateau, if your goal is to grow muscle, change the whole set of exercises that you do, the method of executing the reps, rather than adding weight.
