the thing is , bmi is pretty general, and it doesn't take into account muscle mass and bone structure, what I would do if I were you would be to lose the 20 pounds, then see where your at.
its definitely not healthy for anybody that's not a thin boned person, I'm supposed to weight like 170 for my height but anything less then 190 and I'm looking sickly thin

No it's not very accurate. It doesn't really account for muscle. I'm 5'9" and weigh 175. Technically I'm obese but I'm very muscular
No. It's stupid. I'm supposed to weigh 110 pounds at 5'3", and that would be disgusting to look at. The BMI scale needs to be done away with.
I'd just use it as a guide, I'm pretty sure you'd know yourself if you were over/underweight.. that's how I always think :)
Not accurate at all. I went to a military college and many students didn't follow the guidelines of the scale yet they were NCAA athletes.
It does not account for muscles so a masculine guy will be the same as a fatty with no muscles whatsoever
Yes it is very inaccurate especially for boys

I don't see how it can be accurate. When I was the weight they give for the upper end of healthy for my height, I was a toothpick.

Yeah, it doesn't really take into account of muscle or bone structure, so I always thought it was a bunch of crap.
Mmmm, I don't like it. It doesn't take into acount muscle mass or body type.
It's not accurate. It just gives one an estimate.
it's a rough estimate, but no way accurate
