Maybe sitting down is worse than being active and on your feet all day?
Sitting all day is Definitely bad for you, but standing all day can be bad as well. You can be walking around and still be putting stress on your knees and back.

Sitting all day without moving or regularly shifting position is bad for you- but standing all day without moving or shifting position is much, MUCH worse. We're long past the point where Weberian thought carries much weight, dude.
A lot of those people are fat and all that weight puts too much pressure on the spine whether they are sitting or standing.
This is why most offices have standing desks now. Sitting down for long periods of time is bad for your back.

When I used to work in an Office I had constant back problems. After working in a Warehouse shifting heavy stuff daily... no problems..
Sitting down for any longer than 30 minutes is bad for you.
