Looking terrible because of smoking?

I’m 21F, i’ve been smoking since 4 years. The two first years I was a heavy smoker, i’d smoke maybe 10 or more joints a day. From where I am we mix hasch with cigarettes, so I ended addicted to nicotine too. The years after I was smoking really lesser, like sometimes of course I had bad days and smoked a lot but usually it’s around 2 - 3 times a day ideally but sometimes 4 if I stayed home bored all day. But this year especially I noticed that I started looking terrible, my skin got darker and my skin tone isn’t homogeneous anymore, my smile is starting to lose his white, my dark circles are bad, my gums are blue my lips are blue and i lost 15 kg since I started smoking that I can’t get back no matter how much i eat. ( sorry for all the details, it was also to discourage anyone who would start smoking, like it’s really a bad idea ) I started smoking hasch just to feel better but now I struggle to live without it, even tho it makes me look terrible and also I almost doesn’t feel good anymore after smoking, like I just like the feeling when I’m smoking it but after I just feel anxious / paranoid and can’t even go out or my brain would convince me everyone and everything is going to harm me.

But what I wanted to say, is that I was trying to reduce it these last two weeks in 1 - 2 joints a day but I still don’t see any change in my face. my lips are darker than ever and my gums too. I miss my baby pink gums like I never thought that would be what I miss the most. But it’s just looks so healthy and attractive, me I feel like I look dirty I don't know how my boyfriend does to not be disgusted tbh ( he smokes too but still have his lips and gums too )
So yeah : here is my question sorry it took long :
Can I ever see a change while continuing to smoke only a joint a day? Or would I have to stop totally to see a difference on my face and weight?

Man that's rough sis, smoking can definitely do a number on your appearance over time. A few thoughts:

- Cutting down to 1 joint a day is better than nothing, but it's still putting a lot of toxins in your body regularly.

- Your face and skin are likely to keep looking dull/dark as long as you're a regular smoker. Those stains don't clear up fully until you quit.

- You probably won't see much weight gain back until you cut it out completely. Your body needs a total break from the chemicals.

- Quitting would be hard at first for sure, but so worth it for your health and looks long run. your gums and lips would pink right up!

- Maybe try vaping CBD/THC instead of smoking? Still a high but way less harsh on your system.

- Or quit and use edibles/tinctures instead? Easier on the body than smoking daily.

- Ask your boy to quit with you for support if he's down. Doing it together could help stay accountable.

Overall I think you know in your heart you need a full detox to fix those issues. Start making a quit plan - you got this! And your health and beauty will thank you big time I swear. Lemme know if you need any support quiting either!

Yeah and I also think that I should probably totally quit to see a difference, because as i said even tho it’s been a while since I reduced my smoking I can’t even see a small physical change. I only stopped coughing which tbh motivated me because for 2 months I started coughing all day and I was traumatised by how unattractive it was and how manly i’d look to my boyfriend lol. Thank u so much really, u really motivated me and also from where i live unfortunately cbd will take maybe a year to start getting sold and there is no edibles etc lol

You're welcome, I'm glad I could help motivate you a bit! Coughing all day definitely doesn't sound fun haha. And yeah, looks aren't everything of course, but feeling good in your own skin is important too.

It'll definitely be tough to quit totally cold turkey, but maybe try slowly cutting back more each week if going full stop is too hard. Even dropping down to just smoke on weekends or evenings could help your body start recovering.

When cravings hit, try drinking lots of water, crunchy snacks like carrot sticks, or going for a walk/run to get your mind off it. Exercise releases endorphins too which can curb craving feelings.

Get grip and take control over your life again. THC withdrawals aren't heavy because THC is partially stored in your fat tissue and it will takes months until drug tests show you're THC negative, so you won't go instantly down. Nicotine will be probably more problematic, because nicotine has 3 phases of withdrawal. Craving comes after few hours, depression that comes after few days and sometimes after two weeks psychosomatic stuff like blood sugar imbalance or heart rhythm problems. Maybe starting taking THC without nicotine is best option for now, hash cakes, chocolate milk or smoking it pure in a bong.

Yes, smoking changed your appearance. No, it is not permanent if you quit. But it will take a lot longer than 2 weeks to see a difference. I would also start getting into a habit of regularly using a facial moisturizer and sunscreen. You’re more likely to see results after a year rather than a few weeks

you should try qutting cold turkey and for good (it will be hard not to be addicted again if you still smoke even a bit). you shouldn't just quit hoping your will will be enough. you should buying nicotine patches, gums or even look into stronger solutions, or/and professional help. you'll see your gums and all that go back to before a couple months after quitting everything. doesn't happen in like two weeks

Don’t be sorry babes, you talk your heart out and get it all out. I was a heavy smoker too but I had to stop I can’t run like I use to so I took up running again and drank a lot of water. That’s all you need to be honest. It’s like aging backwards
