I guess equally. Asside from it just being fun. I do it generally because I stay fit and healthier that way. Which in turn make me more comfortable with my appearance. It kinda goes hand in hand. I dont do like over the top muscle training though.
So I guess there would be much more room for more performance if I wouldn't care about aestetics.
Although aestetics is subjective as well and you can focus on different parts of performance.
Performance.
Also, both my mom and grandmother has some physical struggles that I want to avoid, so it's for that reason.
Like, I already has issues with my lower back.
So that's my focus.
Also, it just feels great to lift heavier weights and feel like I'm strong.
Both right now. I’m trying to learn hockey as an adult so I’m doing all kinds of off ice training, agility work, etc. But I’m also vain and aging, so I’m in there battling against the oldness from overtaking me, lmao
If my form is wrong or incorrect, I'm not doing the set the way I am supposed to, and I'm only fooling myself with thinking the set did me the most good.
For me I have to do both

I focus on my fun... there are no goals... just kilometers, breaths, steps, tired muscles, and pure bliss after.
For me it's both. My face has to look nice, and I want to take good care of my body, so workout is required for that.
looks won't do shit in sports...
good form and fitness prevents/or helps when injury.. that's the goal
I focus on feeling better mentally.
So neither.
It helps me feel less anxious.
performance. I try to work on both strength and endurance.
Performance, as the aesthetics part is jus a bonus that comes with working out.
Neither. I have more meaningful things to think about.
Performance, as in good form.
