I feel that it is a personal responsibility to monitor your eating habits and what you are putting in your body. Processed foods are cheap for a reason and it isn't because everything is organic and fresh or without preservatives and chemicals.
It's also a choice to eat fast food and even at fast food chains, there are "healthier" options, but it's easier to make those "healthier" options at home.
Not sure what the current laws on this are but I was just curious :)
