Too hard on my boyfriend of 5 years after lice ordeal?

He babysits this kid who gets lice every so often (atleast once a month) The last time I was at his house while he had him the boy jumped on my lap an was messing around, later we made cupcakes and I was sittin on the bar stool next to him helping him.. and I thought I saw a bug in his hair. my boyfriends said I was over reacting. but yet, two weeks later I found lice in my own hair! I'm disgusted and when I told my boyfriend, he said ewww! where do you think you got it from? when I told him he got offended and I was ticked that he would think I got it from anywhere else so I told him it was over that I couldn't deal with worrying about having lice all the time. did I over react? what would you have done?

It sounds like he's the type of person who can't admit when he's wrong or when he's the one who's responsible for something bad like that. He lies to himself because he's insecure and he doesn't want to feel like he can be blamed for anything. And you can't have a healthy relationship with a person like that so it was probably a smart move.

It was both, it frustrated me when he was like whered you get it from, and then he's like probably one of your skanky friends.. but I don't ever hang out with my friends anymore because I'm with him. it was basically just his reaction to the situation.

Im talking to him right now and he still is like refusing to say that I got it from his house and that boy! if he can't put two and two together, what does that mean and say about him exactly?

Yeah, that was a bit melodramatic... I don't know if there were other problems in your relationship but to break up with your boyfriend of five years over lice seems beyond silly to me.

If he can't put 2 and 2 together about where you would get lice from it sounds like you made the smart move.

Thanks that's what my dad said, but my mom got all upset.. even my friends got upset with me about it and said I was too harsh on him.

While this issue may not be the biggest in the world, his reaction is more what concerns me than the actual details of the incident.
