Some people choose the correct answer for the wrong reasons which is why I asked the question in the first place.
I voted "Yes" but not because it is healthy. I believe it is not. but if you want to loose weight, the first thing you want to avoid is simple sugar which is what non-diet soda is full of. Look up the concept of glycemic load and learn from it. A diet won't last you a lifetime (that's a long time) so, the only way to alter your appearance, weight wise, is to alter your eating habit. No worries, it is not about eating cardboards for the rest of your life. Find the things that you ENJOY that are better for you. For example, I love toasted 3 grain bread (Multi-grain - whole grain) bread toasted with butter and cheese. The taste of the toasted seeds is to die for. That combination will give me 300 calories for breakfast that will last me until noon before I think about food again. In comparison, if you eat a dougnut , which is about 300 calorie a piece, you will not feel that you have eaten anything 15 minutes later.
any diet drinks or "sugar free" food are made with Aspartame, a neuro-toxin that hurts not only your brain but some of your organs too.

No it bloats you and is full of unhealthy chemicals plus I hear yourbody reacts to the sweeteners as if they were sugar meaning weight gain. Maybe not as much as regular soda but apparenly the diet chemicals are worse. I used to drink it several times a week. I'm not overweightand I don't think I drank enough of it that cutting it out would change my weight, but I do notice that if I eat a full meal with water I feel okay wile eating that same meal with diet soda would make me feel bloated and less healthy.
Well, I'm not sure how HEALTHY it is, but it can help with weightloss if you typically drink a lot of regular soda and you switch to diet soda instead. You'll take in less calories.
It's not available on mobile youtube. I'm on my phone because I'm at work (break time :D).

It's not good for weight loss.
-Soda companies are out to make money.
-Soda is a highly successful product although the problem is its unhealthy.
-some people love soda but want to lose weight and feel guilty about drinking soda because it doesn't help them.
Solution :
-marketing geniuses produce 'diet soda' that way you can still drink their product and not feel so bad about it because it's 'good ' for weight loss! Surew, it's good for weight loss if you use it as a substitute for total crap that you eat everyday. It's all relative.
Do you think these guys care about your (the consumer) weight loss? No, it's just a solution for them to get you to continue to give them more money when you want to stop drinking soda. And it works sadly.

In the sense that people with a sweet tooth drink diet pops instead and consume less calories and sugar as a result, yes.
In the sense that people with a sweet tooth should just drink water and have less of a sweet tooth, no.
That said, for all the alleged problems of the diet pop artificial sweeteners, they are a better drink than "natural" fruit juice concentrates, many of which are "natural" sugar bombs and detrimental to weight loss.
Diet Soda usually has zero calories per serving, so if it is replacing regular soda it will help cut calories in your over all diet. Drinking water is the best thing to drink, but diet soda is better than regular soda when you are trying to reduce your daily calories.
the best drink for weight loss is simply water. no other substitute will help like water can. you're body is made up of ..what?.. about 70% or more of water? don't need any more proof that to just give your body what it already has and wants when you're losing weight.
The stuff they put in Diet Soda has shown to cause some forms of cancer. Just saying.
truth
Diet soda has just as much of everything (besides calories) as regular soda link
Soda isn't healthy, it doesn't matter if it's normal or diet its not healthy, but a lot of people drink it.

Check the Labels of what you eat and drink, Coca cola is 43 calories per 100ml while the diet cola is 0.3 calories per 100ml.

No. I remember reading somewhere that while it IS zero calories, the sweeteners used and the other misc. crap in there actually HELP gain weight/produce fat/have the opposite desired effect.
That said, for all the alleged problems of the diet pop artificial sweeteners, they *are* a better drink than "natural" fruit juice concentrates, many of which are "natural" sugar bombs and detrimental to weight loss.
No disagreement there. But some people just can't break that sweet habit and it is probably better for them than "sugar bombing".
It's not healthy because of aspartame, but for people with sweet tooth and want to lose weight they drink that.
Carbonation isn't good to drink if you're gonna vigorously exercise. So don't make a habit of soda in general.
No, the chemicals in it have any number of bad side effects long term and of course NO nutrition. You can't sarve yourselof nutrients for long and accomplish any long term weight loss.
I suppose, but there is a lot of evidence that the chemicals in the soda aren't good for you, may cause liver damage, etc. Especially if you drink a lot of it, for a long time, of course.
I'm not into drinking soda period. Rootbeer is good on occasion but if I drank a coke I would feel like I was polluting my body. Just me tho ;P
I don't need to cite common knowledge. Sugar, artificial or not, and everything else in soda is bad for you. Not only is it not good for diets it's empty calories and just bad for you in general.
Water is the better way to go. It fills your stomach and tricks your body into thinking there's food there and you won't want to eat as much.
B: No, drinking diet soda is unhealthy.
people drink it to lose weight not to be healthy. they want to look good. people who want to be healthy don't drink any soda.
Diet soda is entirely chemicals. Drink water instead.
it's easy to suggest cause it's easily true -_-
Soda alone isn't that healthy...doesn't really matter what kind.
If you wanna loose weight drop coke and drink water
It is just bad to drink for you , it also eats at bone marrow
