Looked like this on Friday! But today its calm and basically looks like a scar. Going to see how it does this week then call the dr if it gets bad again.

Because if it’s something like hives, you would have felt the effects by now
My best friend struggled with it for a bit and my mom is having a similar issue now


They both took antihistamines to fight it off but it was near impossible to isolate the root cause


If the doctor isn’t too worried it might be because your symptoms aren’t scary


But I agree that modern medicine can often be a total joke, so you have to keep on asking to he examined

I don’t know and I can’t see if it’s like the problem I had or not did you start any new medications before this started could be a month or so before…. I had some red places something like this show up on my hands and was only on my hands wrists and the forearms close to my wrists it didn’t hurt itch or anything but it would have little red circular spots that resembled popped blisters but never had any blisters I was checked for every disease they could think of and couldn’t find anything it turned out to be a reaction to a medication I had started taking after I quit taking it they went away in a few weeks I think it took a few weeks or a month for the symptoms to show up too it was not fast which made it harder for my doctors to figure it out

That’s what I would assume is left to right and if that’s the case I would have to agree that the left hand does look more swollen than the right picture there’s more redness in the right it appears but pictures don’t always show what things actually look like I have learned if you are seeing other doctors for any other stuff you can bring it up to them they may or not know anything to help but they had to do years of schooling to become a doctor some veterinarians do more time schooling than doctors not saying you should see a vet but one of your other doctors might have actually some knowledge about your problem I think I agree your one doctor has maybe dropped the ball for whatever reason and you should ask another doctor if you want to get a answer chances are slim you will find a answer from a internet site like this

It did not work at all. It got worse instead. That looks so uncomfortable. I'm sorry I can only imagine how irritating it must have been. Maybe time to visit some other doctor?

Just antihistamines are the typical Tx. (and many are OTC available, no Rx needed). Consider getting a second opinion from a dermatologist.

Is the left photo when you started, and the right photo when you finished? If so, it worsened of course. You should probably have the doctor consider it to be fungal in origin and be treated with an anti-fungal. The diagnosis often can't be made visually.

@Razp_Sorbet Where you live, can you purchase ketoconazole cream without a prescription? If so I would consider trying that as an antifungal. Of course I would follow up with a doctor also.

given the fact that you work at very specific workplace, and there are very specific things around, like allergens and potential irritants... maybe one of those is the culprit and you're still around it constantly enough?

#1 What was the diagnosis? For certain causes of a skin condition like that I wouldn't take any medication at all. For others I might consider it.

#2 I would not use topical steroids. I know the ones they prescribe for topical use have a very low strength, but repeated use both damages your skin and is partially absorbed into your bloodstream. It isn't a cure, it is just a coverup and not worth potentially permanent damage.

Could be anything from an allergy to a rash from something like poison ivy to eczema to an allergic reaction. What you should do depends on what it is.

Also im not actually expecting serious answers from people here. Just sharing my pain and maybe people have some tips for soothing creams. So far the only thing that doesn't sting like a mofo is a natural balm made from a native tree

Ahhh okay. My sister had contact dermatitis a year or two ago and it looked very much like that. If it is, the good news is that it is unlikely to be permanent. Hers went away but it took some time.

You should check any lotions, soaps, shampoos or other things like that that you use on your skin. That was what caused her issue. She had a reaction to something in the shampoo she was using. If it keeps coming back, try switching those up for some other type.

Be careful with the creams you try because they may have an ingredient that is causing the problem. It took my sister a while to identify what was causing it. If you are able to do that you can look at the ingredients and narrow it down so you know what to avoid.

Yeah I have had this issue before and changed absolutely everything i use to soap free, sensitive skin friendly etc... even buy specific hand soap for work that I can use. My assumption is its certain fragrances and SLS SLES so nothing i use has those in it. The absolute only thing i can think of that could be causing it is the dish soap at work which doesn't really make much sense as I wear gloves if im submerging my hands in it and its worse on my left hand and im right handed... plus doesn't explain why I sometimes get it on my eyelids

Yeah... it can be tricky to figure out what's causing it. Took my sister several months. She finally figured it out and when she made the change it went away.

One thing that makes it hard to figure out is that if you are using a topical steroid that makes it fade, then it's hard to tell if something you are using is triggering it because it is hidden by the medication.

Thing is it was actively getting worse while using the cream. The patch on my left hand started as just a dry patch on my knuckle only the size of my knuckle before I got the cream. After the first week everything went away (as it usually does with everything I've used in the past) but by the third week my left hand started flaring to the point pictured

It's certainly vastly improved , treated as it should have been for an allergic reaction , a product like Phenergan 25mg works in similar Vien.

If you want to know if steroids really work here, take Prednisolon 20mg pills for five or six days and then reduce to 15, 10, 5mg over the next ten days.

It looks like everyone is confused as to which picture is before and which is after… after reading a lot of the comments I am beginning to think the meds they gave you to fix the problem is making things worse is the one on the right before and then the one on the left after and your hand swole up? If so stop the medication they gave you to fix it and see if it helps sometimes what they give us to help us is the problem for a whole different can of worms 😣

That's pretty wild, answering your question tho I think the doctor is going to want to do a blood test to get a better understanding of your allergies before prescribing you anything else, if they don't already have an alternative option, as for the inflammation, try dipping your hand in a mix of water and baking soda, see if it helps
