Globally, the average surface temperatures increase by about 0.2 degrees Celsius or 0.36 Farenheit per DECADE. That means by the time I hit 80 years old (in 48 years), it would have increased an average of 0.96 degrees Celsius globally or 1.728 Farenheit. I doubt that would make much of a difference in life overall.
So am I worried about it? Not really. But I'm not going to live my life as an irresponsible adult for the future generations. I will do my part to keep the environment clean and try to keep my carbon footprint relatively low.
Also, I'm sure within 48 years, technology (especially with AI) would have improved significantly and we will have many solutions to counter climate change.
There are scarier concepts. Like did you know the Milky Way and Andromeda (another galaxy are on a collision course? It'll happen within the next 10 billion years, so we won't be around to see it, but the concept of our galaxy and another galaxy colliding and merging together is wild to me.
And then there's the concept of the sun turning into a red giant. In about 5 billion years, the sun will turn into a red giant and even before that... in 1 billion years, Earth will have become uninhabitable because the sun will be about 10% brighter than it is nowadays. That extra heat will trigger a runaway greenhouse effect, evaporating Earth's oceans and ending all surface life.
Nope.
I am more worried about other things like AI data centers, 5G radiation and the nefarious capabilities of 5 or 6G, weather modification, farming that uses horrific poisons that devastate soil and countless creatures, air and water pollution, unhealthy food, harmful drugs and vaccines, mandating the use of electric cars and appliances, SMART technology, digital currency, 24/7 surveillance, restricting travel, oligarchical control over government, authoritarianism, economic disparity, war, ...
I think the Earth's climate changes, but the notion that human-generated CO2 has any effect is a scam to control people and make shit tons of money.
@Lliam
I was watching a program that said that even when you rinse off your fruits 🍓 🍑 and veggies, there's still pesticide residue on them. Especially apples! 🍎 You can't get it off. That's why apples 🍏 have that waxy coating on the skin. I've noticed that before when I ate my last apple.
Geez, reading your opinion made me realize that I don't think there was one thing on your list that we had to worry about in the 70's huh?
I wanna go back to the 70's please? 🥺
@sage2021. The electronic stuff certainly didn't exist. Weather modification and chemtrails in the air wasn't really happening.
But there was air and water pollution. And toxic chemicals were used in agriculture. And many foods contained unhealthy ingredients.
Nope. It is not something I think about too much.
Yeah a bit. Im in the American south west too so im also worried about our water running out here someday.
we really really need to get off fossil fuels
Today I will travel home.
I actually feel positively excited about changing climate.
Sometimes it does depending on where I am and what the climate change is doing.
Nah the warm times are good times.
Climate change is natural.
No, the antaganizers do.
Nope
Yes.
No it does not
What?
