How do you heal irritated gums?

My right side is bothering me. I think I brushed too hard. Junk food didn't help. They're not bleeding. Just hurt. Should I not brush around there until they feel better? Is there anything I can do to make the feeling go away?

Is the pain near the back, harder to reach area of your mouth? You may have an abscess where the bacteria are retreating past the gum line. I've had this before.

Use antiseptic mouth wash, maximum strength. Listerine works the best (for me, at least) Rinse for 30 seconds, being sure to thoroughly wash the area, which shouldn't be too hard since you're rinsing with a water based liquid. It will sting a bit, but after you spit out the mouthwash and rinse it out with clean water, it should feel "different", but at least alleviated.

You may have an infection and those infections don't usually og away, they just get worse, and you could lose teeth. Get thee to a dentist posthaste, it will be worth the money.

I would rinse with mouthwash...This could be you could be brushing to harshly or not brushin enough. Try to gentle around the area and try not to eat anything acidic that might irritate the gums. You should be fine by tomorrow.

Try rinsing with a warm saltwater solution. Also, brush and floss that area very gently in the meantime.

Hhmm. I was actually wondering about that, because I think it was suggested for when I removed my wisdom teeth. A little gross, but I'll try. Thanks!

Just give it time. Don't brush around that area. If t doesn't heal within a week I'd make a dentist appointment
