Is this an allergic reaction?

i woke up this morning and my eyes were extremely itchy and one of my eyelids were a little bit swollen and both my eyelids were a little bit red. is this an allergic reaction to something?

if this has happened to any of you, how long did it take to go away?

alright so I stopped using the makeup wipes that I thought were the issue and it went away. Now its back again though and I took benedryl but it didn't help. what should I do now?

it was when I shampoo'd the couch I was sleeping on ... the shampooer didn't take all the shampoo and water out of the couch and it eventually stopped after some time... what a weird thing to happen lol

I would say so.

Maybe you didn't wash your makeup off well, or used a new product that irritated your eyes?

Maybe you touched something and then touched your eye, even in your sleep?

Maybe you had contact lens issues?

There can be so many reasons.

do you think makeup remover wipes? I started using new ones and had used it the night before I woke up like that.

Probably then. New products can definitely cause allergic reactions.

I had a spider bite on my eyelid one time and it made it red and puffy like that but I could tell that it was a just a bite. Yours does sound like an allergy and so it might be best to go see a doctor about it and get tested.

ouch! I can't even imagine that lol well I hope its not because I have it on both eyelids!

Yes this happened to me recently. I'm not sure on what caused it but I took a shower and washed my eyes out then took some eye drops and my eyes where fine the next morning. Hopefully you'll be okay soon.

it was the outside of your eyelids that were itching right not the inside?

Few weeks back now, but I'm pretty sure it was itchy like everywhere, my eyelids, my actual eyes. The eyelids where swollen and puffy and my eyes were also pretty red. I may have been allergic to something, not sure what but.

It's an allergy, and it will not go away until whatever you're allergic to goes away. Hopefully it's something seasonal.
