I'm no expert on 'pills' but certainly some people take things that :
- dehydrate them, which makes the scale say you're lighter but do nothing positive
- suppress appetite
- support metabolism.
Taking a drug to magically crank up your metabolism is not that safe. The amount you need to get a benefit tends to be high and it could be dangerous. What is more likely to be reasonable and useful is a drug that _supports_ metabolism while dieting. Many people who are overweight experience relatively high metabolic slowdown when under caloric deficit. I'd suggest reading the forums at bodyrecomposition.com where they discuss that sort of thing. You really should do your research before taking anything like that.

You can increase your metabolism by exercising.
It's easy to sit back and say that just because you aren't a twig skinny ectomorph, then you must have a bad metabolism. Wrong! That's just an excuse one makes when they are unwilling to fix their lazy habits.
When you exercise, you force your body to burn calories. Why? Because your muscles need fuel to function. That's the basis of what your metabolism is all about. If you sit on your ass all day your metabolism will be whack, make no mistake about it.
There's actually no "cure-all" pill that will increase your metabolism without tons of unwanted unhealthy side effects. BUT if you're looking to increase your metabolism, it's pretty simple. Instead of eating 3 large meals a day, eat 5 small meals a day. This keeps your metabolism up throughout the day, until pretty soon it's naturally faster :) good luck!
There is no best fat burning pill to take. They're all not that great for you to begin with. How about stop being lazy and go work out instead? I know, I know. It's harder than just popping a pill, but what do you think is gonna happen when you stop taking the pills? Life's so hard that you have to work out. It sucks. Poor thing.

Stay away from pills -- all kinds of effects from mental to physical. For years, it has been known that a lot of seizure medicines will result in weight loss but the FDA has not approved any of them for weight loss yet. Exercise and a decent diet will do the trick.
There are basically 3 types of fat burning/weight loss pills:
Metabolism boosters
Appetite Suppressants
Water loss pills
They all work to some degree but come with horrible side effects and many of which are addicting. The only real safe way of doing it is healthy nutrition and exercise.Rather than wasting your money on expensive diet pills that are unhealthy and won't work you should visit a nutritionist and a personal trainer. Get a healthy lifestyle plan that you can stick with. You need to focus on eating healthy meals and exercising regularly.
I found a great one called diet and exercise, 100% success rate.
Your metabolism isn't slow, you're just lazy.Pills don't work because as soon as you lose the weight you will gain it right back. Trust me, been there done that. And it's harder to lose the weight the second time around. The best thing you can do is make lifestyle changes. Walk an hour a day. Don't go back for seconds. Drink GREEN TEA, it helps boost metabolism.
They don't work. You'll rebound and end up heavier than you are now. Read "Fit for Life" if you want to really lose weight.
How about you run? or swim? or bike?
