- have lots of protein, water and complex carbs- cut out simple carbs
- add more variety to your workouts; doing the same exercises your body adjusts and gets used to them so it is no longer effective
- do lots of cardio (3-4 hours a week)
- do 20 minute sessions of aerobics in the morning before you eat anything- its more effective at this time than doing over an hour of aerobics any other time. if you can't manage to do it then than don't eat for 3 hours before and do it in the evening around 5 or 6 pm and don't eat for an hour afterwards
-eat lots of lean meats such as turkey and have lot of seafood
-caffeine, cinnamon and spicy food are good to have because they speed up your metabolism and help reduce belly fat but have in moderation, because too much is ineffective

Usually plateaus can be overcome by altering your diet a bit. Only eat complex carbs, cut out all refined foods and sugars, only drink water, eat lots of veggies and some fruit. Fruits in veggies lower in sugar are best. For example, carrots and bananas are very high in sugar and will because insulin spikes.
Eat less, and do more cardio.
Little adjustments like foregoing "second helpings" and having huge meals will make a difference. Eat until you're not hungry, not until you're full. Whatever cardio routine you have, mix in some full body workouts and do more of them.
Plateaus do happen. A little reduction in food intake will help you get past it.
