Would you stay with your girlfriend or boyfriend if they got cancer?

What would you do if your girlfriend had to get a double mastectomy, or your boyfriend had to have a testicle removed because of prostate cancer or if they were losing their battle with cancer would you stay with them? I think if you cared enough to be in a serious relationship you would care enough to be supportive but cancer is not something that goes away quickly and it takes its toll, it changes people, would you stick it out?

You stick with it. I've seen examples of that in my life. My friend's dad staying with his mom throughout her battle with breast cancer. My mom's friend and his girlfriend staying with him through his throat cancer. Both were losing battles, but it means a lot to have the person you love supporting you through it till the very end.

Yes I would. She didn't ask for cancer, and it's likely not her fault that she got cancer. In spite of it all, she's still the person I fell in love with. I'm sticking with my woman and supporting her through her battles. That's from the bottom of my heart and honestly I don't see myself reacting any other way.

I'd stay, sick or not they're still the same person I fell in love with. I have a friend, she's 25 and just found out that she has terminal breast cancer and her boyfriend proposed to her and they were married a few wks ago. That's love.

yes there is no doubt in my mind that I would stay with him. I love him to death, yeah to "death". so I will be by his side til we die if he lets me.

Of course I would. I don't jump into relationships with a guy unless I care about them a lot. If he has cancer I'd stick beside him.

I would definitely stick it out with her. I love her and I can imagine cancer would be absolutely horrible to have and the last thing she needs is her boyfriend/husband to just leave. I would always be there for her and try to be as supporting and caring as possible. In a marriage, they don't say 'till death do us part' for no reason!

Of course I would. I am married now, so that's obvious. But it applies to my past relationships, except for one that I was trying to get out of most of the time I was in it.

I'm not going to deny that physical attraction is important at the beginning, but once you've moved past that point there's much more to the equation. So, my answer still stands -- yes.

Yes I'd be there every step of the way, helping him fight through it. And if it is terminal, I'd be by his side till the very end.
