Can you get addicted to nasal spray?

My dad told me that it's possible to get addicted to nasal spray. I'm using it because I'm really stuffed up, but I'm kinda worried. I don't want to get addicted or dependent on it. So can you get addicted to nasal spray?

My ex used to take it. And he said he got dependent on it. So almost every night, he would do that. He got nose bleeds. I'm not sure if it was from stress or if that had something to do with it. He said he tried to stop but would have trouble sleeping. And it was so annoying because he didn't have a cold and I'd see him take it. It's been a while so I'm not sure how much of this is accurate. Its what I remember.

Don't worry. Follow the instructions. And only use when you feel you need it.

What kind of spray? If it's just a saline solution, no, you shouldn't get addicted to it. If it contains actual medicines, then it could be possible.

It's got oxymetazoline hydrochloride in it. I don't know what that is :3

It's a medication that is used to treat nasal congestion. It's an actual drug, so there are possible side effects and risks. Read the package carefully and follow all instructions. Based on what I've read, using it for more than three days can cause the congestion to actually worsen, which can result in an addiction-like dependency. Don't use it for more than three days!

Its not a narcotic or anything. So it would just be a mental addiction more than anything. So unless you have an addictive personality its unlikely.

Lol when I was in first grade I was addicted to nasal spray. I would always think I had a stuffy nose and I couldn't go the sleep without using nasal spray. So in a way yes you can be addicted to pretty much anything.
