Ive been a vegetarian for years now but,i have concluded that some people are attracted to the title...VEGETARIAN or VEGAN becase it draws attention.For instance,an associate of mine at my job(serving food),went around telling everyone that she was a VEGAN.In my mind,i was quite skeptical that she was going to become a vegan overnight when she was still eating racks of RIBS...which showed she wasn't even ready to become a vegetarian.Anyway,she would tell the chefs and suddenly there would be a big deal over finding something she could eat, that didn't contain meat or dairy when it was time for a staff meal.I found it to be quite obnoxious honestly.
Anyway,i often found her eating cookies and other foods that contained butter and definitely other dairy.Of course she wouldn't tell people she did this,but I would scope her cheating all of the time.Some people just want the attention,or they want the title because it is fashionable...but its really a lifestyle change that clealy some people are not willing to take on.
It's easier to say than "I don't eat any type of meat besides fish and chicken". Who cares?! I'm not one of them, but they can consider themselves whatever they want to. Maybe you're interpreting what a vegetarian is too strictly. Maybe they don't consider fish or chicken to be "meat". Lacto-ovo vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products, eggs don't grow on trees, but they're still considered vegetarians. No need to bash other people's lifestyles. Personally, I wouldn't use condescending wonka as a baseline of morals or opinions.
That's a flexitarian. =P They act like they are a vegetarian for some obscene social image but really do eat meat. Vegetarianism is centered around not eating animal flesh. lacto-ovo eat eggs/milk but not flesh. Vegans only eat vegetation. Some people have twisted views and want to act like the are a vegetarian even though they are not.
What a lot of people don't realize is that all of us are food...might not get eaten if you are cremated...otherwise...just a matter of who eats us...lions & tigers & bears...or vultures...or bacteria & worms...EVERYONE is devoured...just a fact of life...(:

not everything vegetarians eat grows on trees #justsayin'
but I agree,fish and chickens are living beings,that think for themselves-i really don't see the logic of calling yourself a vegetarian if you eat them. like my friends were teasing me the other day,they said ''but you can eat bugs,right? I mean,they're tiny'' what? how in the world that makes sense,i don't know.
