Just go to YouTube and practice certain techniques over and over: jab, hook, uppercut, cross, straight, etc. and after that, try putting combos together.
I've boxed with friends before. I never got hurt, but one of my friend's nose did bleed for the rest of the weekend and he had a black eye for two weeks, and I knocked him out, so probably a concussion as well. I also dislodged some other guy's nose when we boxed.
You're punching each other, yes, it can be dangerous.

Gloves are to protect your hands, not the person being hit.
Headgear helps slightly, but mainly prevents cuts, not concussions. By all means wear it! A mouthguard is required (and actually does help with concussions).
Do NOT go all out by any means. If you're interested, I'd do it, but start out with controlled drills, and build slowly.
Good to know you are thinking ahead. There are risks in boxing with the gloves or without. Headgear, mouth guard, and gloves should help to a certain extent. If you really want to help your friend, read more up on the moves and use a punching bag.
Invest in proper headgear and a mouth guard and gloves. Have him teach you all the blocks and parrys you will need before you start. Practice all your punches, rolls and slips on the bags first and have him go slow with you. You'll be fine.

I've been a Muay Thai fighter for two years, fight competitively. Love a girl that doesn't mind sparring with me. That said, I rarely hit her in the head, if I go for a head shot, its just a tap. I love teaching a girl how to fight but if your friend is hitting you too hard, even with gloves on, tell him to back off. Proper head gear is important, as is a mouth gaurd, if anything a mouth gaurd is the most important.
Learn some basic boxing techniques and you should be fine. You might end up with a few black eyes here and there. bloody nose, or whatever but you'll survive. If he wants to keep you as a sparing partner, he's going to go easy on you until you learn and are confident.
Pretty safe. Iv never done it professionally. But used to mess around with my friends on at least sever dozen occasions. Worst I ever got was a sore jaw and a headache which went away after a day or two. Or you could punch each other in the chest which is what we did one time when our gloves wore out and we wrapped t shirts around our hands instead.
Wear proper head gear and use gloves made specifically for sparring that have extra padding. There is still a chance of getting a concussion but it is fairly minimal.
Don't hit the back of the head. Start off slow and ramp up the intensity little by little. Just be safe and don't let anger or frustration be a part of it.
You are right to be concerrned. Even with gloves on head blows will lead to brain damage. Wear a helmet if you do this but een then, don't do it too much. For your own good.
If you let yourself get hit you'll be in bad shape. So learn to defend yourself and don't go for large sweeping punches that will leave you vulnerable
Just because the blows are softer doesn't mean the brain doesn't rattle in your head. I wouldn't box regardless if I even wore a helmet or not.
Lol ask thus question in six months, I didn't even get to touch a bag until the six months were through. Get your footwork right and then worry about punches, no use in throwing off balance punches.
there are risks in boxing, whether you use gloves or not
go slow in the beginning. that's all.
