I mean whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread, etc. People say it turns to sugar right after but I have not gained any weight and my last physical was fine a year ago.

Trending & News Yes! Whole wheat is terribly bad! You must destroy it!
Preferable means of destruction: consumption followed by digestion. More effective way to kill it quickly (much faster than letting it biodegrade) and way more energy efficient than burning it. This method will actually benefit your body and leave you with a net gain of energy (all other methods net a loss of energy) which makes it the optimal solution.
Many people outside the US eat only! this grain! it's much healthier than the processed wheat we mostly have inour cereal and other producs, and more nutritious.
Buess what, digestion turns most things we eat into forms of sugar! That's how we get our energy!
Whole wheat is good for you, particularly any flour that hasn't been "enriched". It helps clear away bad cholesterol and almost all health experts tell you if you can to only eat whole wheat rather than white bread because it has more nutrients. It is still a carb though, and they are equal calories. So don't get out of control with them, but chose them over bleached/enriched white flour whenever possible!
Whole wheat is better than regular/white pasta and bread, but carbs in general have become a big problem, especially in increasing diabetes and insulin resistance.
Honestly, just have it in moderation, keep having regular check-ups, and try not to worry yourself to death. Sometimes I think our stress about food affects our well-beings more than the actual food does :P
would constant/ daily eating of it be detrimental? I am on a new diet now but still love whole wheat pasta
I don't think having a medium pasta dish every day is going to do anything awful to you. Especially if you also mix it with protein.
I mean, in the worst case scenario, next time you go to the doctor your stats could be worse, but then you can just alter your diet a bit and improve. As long as you have some idea of what's going on in your body (some people don't go to the doctor at all).

Its carbohydrate rich, anything carbohydrate rich is used as sugar- sugar is a carb.
Whole wheat products also contain proteins and other healthy b-vitamins that are essential for overall health.
Whole wheat and whole grain products are very healthy for you- much healthier than over processed white breads.
All carbohydrates turn right to sugar because that is what they are by definition. Whole wheats take longer to digest, and therefore do not spike your blood sugar levels, triggering your body to store fat as quickly as persay white bread. So eating whole wheat is not bad, but be careful; what you really want to go for is "whole grain," or "complete protein," bread in that case.
^ this. When in doubt, check the fiber content. Pick the one with the most fiber and you've probably picked the healthier option. Having said that, a lot of grains of any kind - whole or otherwise - is probably not the best idea. Limit it to one serving a day and make sure that it's at least 8 hours before you go to bed (like at lunch or breakfast). After 3pm, stick to vegetables and protein.
Im so glad someone else mentioned the whole "carbs ARE sugars thing" I feel like people forget that.
And to correct the other commenter, the ADA recommends 6oz of grains per day, one serving being one oz. You'll have to weigh or check the weight of the bead you use. Some of the bread is going to be an ounce and a half, meaning a sandwich will be 3oz of grians, half of what you need in a day. In general, more grains, more veggies, less animal protein.
eating bread in general isn't that great for you, but whole wheat is one of the healthiest breads available, definitely a lot better than eating regular pasta and bread
I used to eat regular but I tried whole wheat years ago and I love the taste
will it give me high sugar levels?
If its not doing anything bad to you I don't see the problem but try switch it up a but to more healthier options and see if you notice a difference in how you feel
Absolutely not. Whole wheat is amazing for you, and dieticians recommend that you make half your grains whole. Whole wheat flour is much healthier than normal white flour.
I didn't eat wheat for 2yrs because they thought I was celic (allergic to gluten in wheat) lost a lot of weight and still small but now I can eat wheat and its great lol
Found this really neat article about whole wheat. link
Whole wheat is really healthy for you. Especially in bread and pasta, it's better than white bread or regular pasta.
Absolutely not. Whole wheat is great. You should be eating more whole wheat bread than some other kind.
Its better then eating white bread and pasta and will hold you longer.
I have never heard that whole wheat is bad for you, I think you are just fine eating whole wheat!
Whole wheat is better for you because complex carbs are not stripped of their nutrients.
Eating whole wheat is no worse than eating "white" or processed. It actually takes longer to turn to sugar
Whoever told you it turns right into sugar needs a head scan. Whole wheat is really really good for you. It's a lot better then the normal refined grains.
