Is it normal for my legs to hurt?

I started working out again on Friday. I did lower body, I did those leg ups (not sure what it is called but but you push a large platform up with your legs), I put 50lbs on each side and the machine weighed 118lbs by itself which means I lifted 218lbs with my legs. Ever since it has hurt. Its sore to walk, is this normal? will it go away?
Is it normal for my legs to hurt?
