A question about meds, and being sick.

I broke my back many years ago, and about every 3 years, I have to go onto steroids to replenish my spinal fluid, and also to reduce the swelling.

Does anyone else have to take steroids, and do they make you really sick? Mine always do, and I hate life for the week that I have to take them, and the week after.

My girlfriend gets put on corticosteriods like it is candy. That is the only thing her PCP knows how to prescibe. Yes, they make very very tired, nasaus (I know I spelled that wrong), dizy and puts on a lot of weight. If you can get something else to take, DO IT.

my bro takes them for asthma, they make him really scary afterward, he argues with people, hits himself, and is in general pretty angry... I researched and they said this is a common side effect... I wish he didn't have to take them but he has really bad asthma.

I don't take them but I know a few people who have taken them and get really sick. Most people react to steroids in negative ways. Have you asked your doctor if there's anything you can do to help with the sickness?
