Is there an Olympic event you don't like or you don't feel is necessary?

I feel that Beach Volleyball shouldn't be an Olympic event. There's already Volleyball; Beach Volleyball SEEMS to only add sand and remove clothes.

I understand that Beach Volleyball is harder, but, when it comes down to it, I feel that it's an eye-candy sport. I think Volleyball is enough, to be honest.

Well, that's my opinion. What about you? Do you feel there's an Olympic event out there that shouldn't exist?

If they can have like 14 different swimming medals, surely they can have two volleyball ones.

While they are great at what they do, it feels odd to me that shooting, archery, equestrian, sailing are olympic sports, off the top of my head, which I suppose means I should include modern pentathalon as well.

If they combined modern pentathalon into one event, I'd watch it. They should ride, with penalty time for errors, then dismount, swim, shoot/run as per biathalon with penalty laps, then as soon as they make it over the finish line, the 1st and second over the line fence for gold. It would make no sense, but come on ...

I'm not wild about synchronized swimming or diving, water polo, badminton, table tennis,handball, rhythymic gymastics

Wait... of all the events, the one you have the biggest beef with is two on two beach volleyball?

Wow... I mean, there's ping pong, or, in my opinion, the most stupid thing I've ever seen... the steeplechase. And, no, I don't mean with horses. I'm talking about people running around a track jumping over barricades, one of which has a puddle of water on the other side. I mean, people are doing something that was designed for horses to do. That's the worst event ever.

shooting because it doesn't involve great athletic ability

tennis, basket ball and football because these sports already have high profiles and dominating world events of their own that eclipse the olympics ie no one really remembers or cares who wins olympic soccer...it's all about the FIFA world cup

I haven't seen it on yet, so I don't know if they got rid of it or if it just hasn't taken place yet. But in the Beijing Olympics, they had race walking :|

I am most definitely into eye candy,but the volleyball really does not do much for me in that way. It lasts too long also,I like events that are shorter like running,swimming and some gymnastics.

Personally don't feel any are 'necessary' to me since I don't watch any of them. With that said it's still great to have.

i like the beach volleyball though :\
