You know how everyone makes that joke, 'First world problems'? I expect the Bolsheviks had a similar joke, that went; 'Bourgeoise Society' - it would apply here. I really don't have anything to say to that though, like... Just... WHAT. The whole thing is really crazy. You could go into the actual disturbing undertones of China and it's expectations of women, the fact that there is in fact a society that considers women nymphs that trick men into marriage by whatever means possible - or the even scarier truth, perhaps, that it is normal there to do so. In fact, in Chinese society it might have been a bit of a victory... Or perhaps, it could be used as a worthy comparison between Eastern and Western decadence - the east always considered the bastion of all things the West has failed in, ridiculously so.

But... That's to ignore the *comedy* of the whole thing. F***all that noise. This is GOLD.

And there's no guarantee in life. Nice looking people don't necesssarily have nice looking kids, either. It seems weird to sue successfully over plastic surgery. To me, he had no right to expect some sort of guarantee of his baby's looks. Sounds like they weren't that harmonious to begin with if he suspected her of an affair.

Of course there are, not everyone is born with flattering features. I've seen babies with big noses and bulging foreheads, the result of unfortunate dominant genes. Not trying to sound harsh, but there are certainly ugly babies out there.

Why would she owe him money? To make up for the fact that he has an "ugly" baby? They're both shallow, but he's taking it to the extreme. He had a beautiful wife no matter which way you flip the story and was so shallow that he couldn't find his own daughter beautiful so he sued the wife for 120,000? He's an a**hole.

Bottomline: He has money, the wife is still beautiful, and the baby is screwed for having these parents.

Hey, the guy won. Yeah, if he didn't know, it's fraudulent. Just as it would be if "she" were a "he" first. One of the primary reasons to get married is to have kids. When assessing prospective marriage options, people have a right to a realistic assessment of the reproductive value of the other person. So just as a woman has the legal right to divorce an impotent or sterile guy, the guy has the right to know about the reproductive fitness of the woman prior to getting married. If there's a gross deception (as in this case) that amounts to fraud and is grounds for divorce.

Well, this case didn't happen in the US. I'm pretty sure the US legal system is sufficiently stacked against guys that he'd be screwed. Especially once there is a kid, the welfare of the father isn't even a slight consideration. So I'm sure the guy would be told to just deal with it.

The case should be thrown out. He clearly does not understand how genetics work. A beautiful couple is not guaranteed to have beautiful offspring. For example, my aunt and uncle were the home coming king and queen and I saw their old photos and they looked like they could model. But their first born child was very homely looking and she needed to get a nose job in her early teens so she would not look like miss piggy.

First of all, she should have told him otherwise. Personally I don't think it's grounds for divorce though. The outcome of how the baby looks isn't going to be completely dependent on the features of the parents. If it's an ugly baby, he contributed to a portion to it also.
