Wisdom teeth pain!

It has been about a week since I got all four of my wisdom teeth out and I keep waking up with really bad jaw pains.enough where I have to take the prescription meds that were given to me. It really fricken hurts and I'm trying to slowly go off of them because they can be addictive. Is this normal? This pain is only at night and mainly when I am laying down. I sleep on two pillows so I don't know what is going on. And one of my stitches fell out yesterday! I guess that is a bonus haha thanks for the help!

Do you have any jaw problems? Were they impacted? I have TMJ and my bottom teeth were impacted. They had to go in and break the teeth before taking them out. I was in the kind of pain you're in, and I ended up healing fine and taking no meds(long story). I think that the pain is pretty normal, especially lying down.. Maybe it's a pressure thing? But I'm not a doctor, so you might wanna call yours just to be sure. Good luck & feel better!

Im pretty sure all of mine were because my mom asked if I could take any ans he said they were all in pieces. I may have t mj but he never said anything when he checked. It kinda lightens up on the pain throughout the day .

Do what you gotta do:). As long as you're being careful about the meds I think you will be okay. Also, I'm not sure if you're having this problem cause of jaw pain, but I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to eat almost anything. Applesauce was my best friend. Get plastic spoons if you can. They're easier to get in there and doesn't hurt if you accidentally bump the back. Feel better! I remember how much this sucked.

It's good that the stitches are coming out. When I had my wisdom teeth (also all four of them) removed my doctor said they would dissolve...well, they didn't and my mom had to take them out (good thing she's a nurse). I didn't have a lot of pain but I do know people who had a hard time after the surgery.

But I would call your doctor, just to be sure, and tell him about the pain and he can tell you if it's normal or not.

your dentist sucks, that's what happened, go back to the doctor and threaten to sue his a.ss if he doesn't do the job right.
