I recently started doing Tabata workouts, and I'm doing an ab challenge to stay motivated for the month.
Do you think this is good enough? I walk to and from school and I only eat healthy meals. Please help!
Speaking from experience, sweetie, I have been "weight conscience" and an exercise nut for years now. I have --and still do--go to the gym, but mostly, being I live in a busy city, find that I still can be that avid walker I trained MY legs to be. I love to walk, and although I have done some running when I used to live Upstate, New York, I prefer the "walking routine" for me. This, and a sensible diet, keeps my 5'4 116 pound body pretty svelte. I admit, I have fallen a few times "off the skim milk wagon," but somehow I always manage to get back on, and continue, with even more perseverance. There have been many times, due to where I am going and what I am doing, that I have even gotten down to 106 pounds. But for my height and small frame, I am comfortable at this weight.
To be quite honest, you are short, much like myself. I don't know what your frame size is,(If you are medium-large, perhaps a good weight is125) but if you want to be "less chubby, have a thinner back neck, and "tinier tummy," then put yourself on a "more healthier" diet, eating things that will enable you to "burn the fat," and this along with your workout program, will help you to get into shape--"for the month" and---every month thence after, sweetie. And if you want things to "go a little faster," put yourself on a regimen of walking not only back and forth to school, but a "quick nightly" walk is also a good step in the right direction. Include weekends as well. Laying on the floor, and doing leg exercises and sit ups is also a Plus. Keeps the tummy tight and taut."
I am proud of you for showing initiative and caring about your body now at a young age. Believe me, it will pay off in the future. It isn't always easy to eat right and exercise religiously, but mentally and physically, it is the best thing you can do for yourself, and you are most definitely off to a great start. I did just want to interject a few helpful hints to keep you going down the right path. Keep up the good work.xx
PS: BTW: While you are "coming home from school", stop to the store and buy a multivitamin One a Day supplement. I have been on vitamins since 6 years of age, and have never faltered. They replace what you don't eat every day, but on another good note, they give you extra energy, and are also good for skin, hair, nails, and so forth. Being you are at the menstruating age, get the ones with IRON. You'll be glad you did.
Hope this all helps. Happy living.:))
Thanks for the advice, ma'am !
You will drop weight quickly because you are young and probably have a fast metabolism. If it isn't currently fast, you will speed up your metab. by beginning to work out. keep doing what your doing and you will see results
The best way is to eat right. 70% of getting abs or loosing fat is your diet. I am kinda in your situ. I have gained like 10 pounds since I started working because all they have close by is fast food restaurants and I don't care for leftovers. Now I have started eating salads and healthier food and I'm working out. I'm not "fat" per say, I weigh 170 and am 6' even, but its all in my stomach and I wanna see some slight indication that my abbs are still there, lol.
So to answer your question, eat right and do a mix of strength training and cardio. Just like you say you are doing :)
Good luck,
Cgrade
Haha thank you ! Just reading this made me smile because at least I'm not the only one suffering from this situation xD haha. Thanks!
Absolutely! Glad I made you smile :)
You should add me so we can keep each other motivated because I don't like working out, lol.
Thanks for BA
there really isn't a way. its practically impossible to lose fat in selective body sections. the only was you could do it is by losing body fat period. and it shouldn't be hard for women to accomplish this since women store most of their body fat in their legs, butt and hips rather than the gut unless you are genetically cursed

It's mainly about what you eat.
How long have you been on the 'only healthy meals' and what has the impact been?
Good job on realizing the need to improve your health. There are resources like Choose my plate.gov that helps with the nutritional side.
