Why is he so upset? Pleas help me out here....

I'm going to a camp this summer in moussiri with my church.

We are from ca, but its the only camp of its kind (camp barnabas... if you have herd of it). My mom and I signed me up for it without my dad really knowing, since we knew that he would through a fit over the location... since its so far away. Some how, he found out. And now he is really really really mad. he is telling me I can't go! I'm 16 years old!, and i think I'm ready, and besides that... ill be with my church... so he really has no reason to be upset.

Why is he being so unreasonable?

Well, it is obvious your dad doesn't want you being too far away from him-part of a dad's protective nature. Telling your dad that you are 16 and you don't think it is fair he won't let you go, and getting mad is only going to make him even less willing to let you go. Trust me, I have had many of the same issues with my dad. If I was you I would sit down and have a discussion with your dad about it, and make sure to act as mature as possible. Get all the information-pamphlets, brochures, etc.-, and bring these to the "meeting" with your dad. He might be more willing to let you go if he knows more details about the trip. Don't tell him that he has to let you go, just tell him that you would appreciate it if he would take it under some more consideration. Acting mature about it might really impress your dad. Sending his daughter away for a whole summer is a big deal for him, and this is something new to him.

My dad was the same way about me going to Alaska for a mission trip. (I'm from Iowa) but eventually he'll get over it. I totally agree with the above statements, very true. Over-protective dads...i know how you feel :(
