u Mine did. They made me take piano lessons. I hated it. Now I actually like playing. I have a keyboard that I occasionally will play. It is actually relaxing and a stress reliever.

Mine made me take Little League (Baseball), and in the beginning, I didn't want to. As I got better, I enjoyed it and signed up for another season on my own.
As far as music, I loved it and wanted to do more than I did, but my parents couldn't afford private lessons or for me to practice as home (saxophone) because my mother ran a Day Care. But I played in bands from 4th grade through college - I was definitely a band geek.
Force to play musical instruments for many years, from the time I was very young until I left for college. I was very good - and I hated it. Haven't played since and never regretted stopping.

My parents forced piano lessons on me, too. As a kid, I hated it but I'd be more agreeable about it now. 🙂

My dad is a 3rd generation aviator. He wanted someone to carry the legacy so he paid for lessons and i soloed a cessna 150 when I was 16. I quit afterwards for about 4 years because i didn't like it.
It wasn't until after i got a job and paid for it myself that i loved it. I own a plane and still fly today. I dont force my kids into it.
They did not FORCE me to play piano, but when they started me I did learn some.
Now I have a Keyboard and violin in my living room.
Hated cleaning of any type. Now I find it mildly enjoyable to clean up and have a nice space.
I was neutral about piano. Mostly, was just lazy to practice. Now, I like to play on occasion.
Martial Arts. For awhile, I didn't really like it. Once I changed my mindset on certain things, then suddenly I started to enjoy it. Though I always appreciated knowing how to fight, in lieu of the reason for going to such classes in the first place: numerous bullying/fights in Grade 1.
based on the answers almost always parents were wrong. some did not need to force. but if needed to force almost everybody stayed same. i ADD that pressure from parents can cause more hate for activity.
Piano lessons was the only activity I can think of that they made me do that I didn't enjoy. I never got into playing instruments. I love listening to music, but I just don't have the patience or interest to learn an instrument.
no. i can remember this with some foods but not with hobbies. my parents would encourage us but if we didn't like it then they would let us quit after the season, session, etc was over
No my parents never forced me to do anything. Sometimes I wish they did force me to play an instrument. I'd love to play the guitar

No, my parents really did not encourage me to do anything. Maybe that is why I ended up just causing trouble in the neighborhood.

No they didn't force me and the hobbies I did have they supported me with.
