Would you date someone who doesn't play any musical instruments?

No prob. I've been a guitarist since I was 11. I was lead guitar and vocalist in rock bands and, later, learned how to sing properly. I can play percussion and am a good arranger, too.
All of my girlfriends admired my musical ability, as does my wife. But none of my girlfriends played instruments and my wife isn't musical at all, aside from listening and dancing.
It doesn't bother me at all.

It might be important to a professional musician, because their social connections all seem to be related to music. I play piano, percussion, and I sing, but not professionally, and I don't care if my partner is musically inclined. My wife can't carry a tune in a bucket.

i'm a professional musician and my fiancé doesn't play an instrument, in fact most men i've dated haven't. i work in a very small world and things could get disastrous if i were to date people i encounter in the business

Yeah, Being able to play music instrument doesn't guarantee that your life will be good. As long as he can be able to make money and good on the bed, those are skills he must have.

Sure. Even though I play several instruments, I've never cared if my girlfriend played one. I think only one past girlfriend played an instrument, and I think she knew about 3 songs on the guitar.

Now, if she didn't like music, that would be a much bigger problem. Fortunately, my girlfriend loves music.

It's an admirable hobby for them to pursue, but frankly there are a lots of those. I try not to tell partners how best to build their own lives. So long as they are pushing forward in interesting ways then they are good to go.

Sure! Been there, done that. First girlfriend played bass and flute, maybe guitar. 2nd through 4th played nothing at all. From what I recall, the 5th (present) wants to learn one, probably drums. I'll do what I can to teach her, if she does.

I play piano. If someone plays an instrument, that's pretty cool, but it's not like it's something that gets me super attracted to them.

Other things being equal, a girl who shows me respect will beat out any entitled girl who plays guitar.
