Ex texts me for Christmas and birthdays?

I feel obligated to reply, he broke up with me last year July time. He was saying I was toxic bc I didn’t want to wear a denim jacket the same day as him out of fear of looking cringe 🙄 it was a bit more than that but yk. The Christmas before I bought his mum and dog and the two Christmas’s that have past he had mentioned the dog, I’m bawling thinking about seeing that little dog and if he remembers me after all this time.

it’s really caught my feelings and I’m not sure if he is meaning more by this or not, I don’t want to be shut down for seeing the dog or him after a over a year and a half but I’m also feeling like their might be hope?

am I just thinking too much into it and had too much wine? : (

Oh good lord you are dealing with a man child. Please don’t reply to this ex. You are not toxic for not wanting to match with him. He is toxic for trying to do something you aren’t into.

Yeah I thought as much but even before I was drinking wine I felt really annoyed by seeing his “merry Christmas from my family to yours, especially bundy” (the dog) he even put a heart. I don’t get my he bothers it’s just sends me out of whack
