Do you buy pricey gifts for Christmas or for you the price is not important?

I mean Christmas is not about buying expensive stuff but do you still do it even if you can afford it or for you that is not important, the important thing is family?

For me even if I receive a cheap box of chocolates I be happy beause is the thought what it counts not how much did it cost.

I know some people who seem to care more about how much and the price of a gift cause for them buying pricey stuff means for them they do care about the other person. Is that really true?

I have some cousins who are like that, they are not even millionaries but like to show off and buy nice stuff for their respective siblings and parents. I always buy simple gifts never go overboard I dont think that is the real meaning of Christmas or this time of the year.

I don't celebrate Christmas.
But for presents overall I say you get something that shows you know them. Just a box of biscuits does not show that unless they are just really super into them lol. But I think more okay I know she likes thriller books so I will go get some for her. I know my dad likes transformers okay I will get something to do with that.

I do think one should always aim to find something the other would like while not spending to much. And of course the more close you are to that person the more you should spend or put effort into it.

since I only buy for kids and teens in my family, of course the aim is to make them happier so price is not an issue for me but then... there has to be a proper measure

i'm as cheap as possible. i don't want to spend money on gifts that will likely be tossed aside in a few months! if anything, they're getting cookies...

Price is somewhat important. We decide on the right gift. If it's really expensive, that person might only get the expensive gift and something small. Or several gifts of medium price. We tend to stick to a budget and so the gifts fit in that.

We always spend a ton of money on Christmas presents. At least now we are in a better financial position. We used to just load up the credit cards and then spend the next 11 months paying them off. Rinse and repeat.
