I was driving home tonight and there seems to be a lot more houses that were decorated for Christmas. I wonder if people are finally past Covid or is something else going on. ?
I think it's part of any area settling in. I don't know about cities, but in suburbs and rural areas you buy your place with a note, and over time get more comfortable with things like a new car, not using bondo, duct tape and solder to fix everything.
During a heat wave a couple of my surveillance cameras fried, now I'm considering replacing the whole unit, and putting up LED strips under the eaves on a simple bread board for any holiday. I wouldn't have thought of that with less equity in my current house.

Maybe more people bought Christmas decorations at yard sales from all of the people who died from Fentanyl this year.
I have a huge storage crate full of Christmas 🎄🎀 decorations, but I just cannot bare to decorate with them because last time I decorated with them was with Patrick.
But, hey, turn on the lights and be merry ☃️No. Down here in Texas anyway it's actually the opposite and there's significantly fewer people with lights out.
It might be that people are spending less on vacation due to traffic congestion issues and using that vacation money for ornaments instead. I know when I spend less on one thing, I end up spending more on another thing.
I was driving with my dad and I was telling him how sad this town is now because there are barely any Christmas decorations 😢
The only ones in our neighborhood are either: people with businesses that can write off the expense against their business: or ; workers for the local village who can bring in a hi-ranger to stick lights on their tall trees. Remainder of homes in our area are fairly nominal and about the same from year to year.
Yeah seems like everyone in my neighborhood has lights up
No, I haven't seen any around here. None.
Our area has more outdoor decorations than in recent years. Not sure it's a trend though.
I guess with the inflated housing prices people are staying put and dressing up their homes more for a change
People just buy more lights is all.
i've noticed wayyy less lights than usual.
That many decorations could be seen from space and blind you.
I see less houses decorated in my area, including my house. I'm not in the mood to decorate
I'm not sure whether I've observed any changes; perhaps it's different where you live.
I haven't noticed anymore where I live.. Probably about the same or less TBH..
Yes and I love it
when I was a little kid the entire city would light up the night sky
people don’t decorate like they used to but I don’t think they realize decorating is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit
I've noticed that here in the UK despite the cost of, living crisis and rising energy bills. I've done the same this year as previous years.
