My boyfriend didn't like my Christmas presents and is feeling guilty and it's making me stressed and anxious?

Hi, so we decided to open our gifts tonight and my boyfriend already had two of the gifts I got him, which I had no idea because we are in an LDR, and then the other two he just didn't like them. He also said he felt guilty because of how much I spent, and I told him not to. The final gift was the only thing he liked, and it was something from a wishlist, so I knew he would like it. But tonight was a disaster, and now I'm feeling bad and guilty and anxious, and I just have no idea what to do. Please help any advice or any words of reassurance or anything that would help. Thanks.

The best thing to do is to try to exchange it for something else and ask his to give you (again) a wish list to chose from.

Those are things that do happen and you should not feel bad about it since you cannot know what your boyfriend has and what not since you are in a long distance relationship.

To avoid that kind of mishap, it is always best to talk about presents long in advance because the same thing may happen for his birthday.

To solve this issue, the best of course is not to give any presents at all, which is something I do.

You should not feel bad about it because, finally, it is the intention that counts and not the present itself or the value of it.

Don't feel bad. My wife returns most things I get her, and gets something she likes instead. It's the thought that counts.
