How would you feel about your married last name rhyming with your first name?

This question is obviously for girls to answer but I also have a question for the guys, which is why I left it open to both genders.

Anyway, I was watching the Wedding Singer and Drew Barrymore's character Julia was getting married to guy with the last name of Gulia. So, it got me thinking how a woman would feel about her married last name rhyming or sounding similar to her first name.

Examples: Shelly Kelly, Karen Darin, Lacey Casey or Kylie Kyle or Devon Devon or Riley Riley.

Those are just some examples. So, ladies how would you feel about your first name and your soon to be married last name rhyming, being similar or being the same? Would you take your husbands last name in that case or keep the last name you have?

Guys, if your soon to be wife decided that your last name was just too much like her first name or your last name was her first name and she decided to keep her maiden name, would you understand that? Or, would you be upset?

I don't know my thoughts on this. It's tough because I've actually thought about this and was actually bothered by the fact that my first girlfriend was named Ashley and my last name is Bentley. I don't know how to feel about it. Like... the name "Ashley Bentley" bothers me to no end so I'd get if she wanted to keep her maiden name... but I also would want it to be very clear that she is my wife in every regard so I'd want to have the same last name and I don't really want to take hers. I thought about actually changing my last name because I have a nickname that would sound great as a last name for both of us, that being "Strauss."

I bet I won't find any girlfriend soon whose name rhymes with my last name ;). But in the rare happening that it would, It would not matter to me, Im even willing to take her last name if I like it :)

It won’t because my name is my name and I wouldn’t change that for no reason. Even if it was a tradition back home I still wouldn’t do it because it’s the 21st century and no longer the mid ages. I think it’s so odd women still want to be property :/ sounds like some tradition from a third world country to me.

Just a fun fact: not all cultures take the man’s last name. If I’m not mistaken, I think kids take their mother’s last name in China. Not really relevant to the question in the grand scheme of things, but still interesting. #themoreyouknow

I knew somebody whose first name was exactly the same as their last name, and they said it didn't bother them. Because people generally seemed to remember their name easier haha

Haha, yeah. I'm not really a movie person but lately I've been trying this thing where I watch movies that are considered classic films or ones that were popular in the 90's but I was too young to watch or one's I've always wanted to see. So, I decided to give this one a try. Last week I watched Ghostbusters (the original one).
