Does remaining single and not marrying shake the fundamental blocks of the society we know?

Arranged marriages are a big deal in India. Many single people face many problems, face-to-face discrimination and what not.

People from India think that marriage is a necessity in the society. Without it, there is nothing.

It is as if, the whole society is built and structured around the concept of marriage.

And when people see single people preferring to be single, they feel threatened as they think that the building blocks of the society are being shaken and the collapse is near.

Even divorce is frowned upon as it is the opposite of marriage.

India is already "overpopulated" just like in "China". However in China, they had that one child per family law which just messed everything up because them Chinese preferred Boy babies over girl ones and so some of them, especially from provincial areas, ended up committing the ultimate sin, which was MURDERING their baby! Committing infanticide which was tragic and unfair for the female babies. I don't know if abortion was even a thing in China though. As for India, they are usually TRADITIONAL./CONSERVATIVE. It's not so much I think that they look up or LOVE to see married people, I think, just like in more conservative Mexican/South American, heck even here in the states and many other parts of the world, they are FAMILY oriented! Usually, what comes next after marriage are children. And CHILDREN are the ones that grow up into the future and lead the country. WITHOUT them, the population dwindles and will have to rely on the older population to lead the way. A lot of people/even congress, probably don't think that is smart considering older people are the first to go (die), and or the odds are greater for them to have sickness and disability leave, medical leave, etc. Also, yeah, like I was saying, India is a VERY traditional country, so a lot of it, includes keeping things in the family (wealth for example. They can be generational, and often times, they are). Some even more conservative parts of India, they don't even like women driving or having/doing things outside of the home! It's just like a Middle Eastern country. They FROWN upon the career woman. They think that the best place for a woman is heavily pregnant, a home, and cooking and caring for little ones!

Without marriage, that is kind of like the first step to ELIMINATING the future of the country (babies and children). Because you don't get married for "love" sometimes in that country. You get married for other reasons! Maybe the family likes the guy. There is also such things as a dowry where the father's family PAYS the other family to "get rid" or have the daughter JOIN into the other family in exchange for something else. It's sad in my opinion! Sometimes, though rare, it could be the other way around, but normally, it's the daughter's family paying the husband. Arraigned marriages, at least traditionally, I don't know about now, I think now there are more freedoms for women (my ex-co-worker was involved in an "Arriaigned Marriage" and all, being from Afghanistan. The guy and girl meet and they also get introduced to each other's family and if it clicks at the beginning then you're off to the races!). Anyway...

It seems to be a belief shared by a decent number within religious groups here in the USA. I've made it known that kids are not my priority, goal, and maybe just not for me at all. And because of that I've been told that I hold no value as a woman or a wife.

The survival of our species depends on members of the opposite sex mating, having children, and raising them to childbearing age. Marriage is an embellishment upon that necessity.

all of these claims are about labor and/or consumerism...

governments and companies do you want you to keep working so you can keep buying...

the more people, the more labor, the better for their elite societies...

also, younger people are better spenders, which is vital for consumerism to thrive as system

No, I don't think so. Some people weren't made for marriage. There's nothing wrong with being single. Plus, there are people who are in long, healthy and happy relationships without getting married. Others who are married but they feel miserable and their marriage is a nightmare.

There are many reasons why a society collapses but being single is not one of them.

Exactly. Although I can see the loss of a well structured documentation here. No marriage no registration no responsibility even when it is in the form of a freaking baby. Who is responsible, among guys? Questions begin.
