If you got married, would you pursue pet ownership?

I have difficulty tolerating unpleasant smells, so I might have to stick to things like hamsters, turtles, or birds. Dogs are cute, but I cannot handle the smell when they get sick. I don’t think it’s fair to own half a pet, but make your partner do 100% of the cleaning because you get nauseous when they get sick.

I’m not married and have a dog. Pets are non negotiable for me. That said hamsters and other rodents smell horrid. I would consider raising Guinea pigs and rabbits for meat though

Our pet dog actually enhances our marriage. We're too old to have little kids of our own (grandkids don't count) so our dog is like our kid, that we both love and care for.

Well I'm just a general animal lover and person so I can understand how you feel about the smell of animals but you know it's something I just grew to accept
