So I have a question for the feminists... First, you drive me nuts. This is 2010, everyone has the same rights.. quit your complaining. Just because you have vaginas, doesn't mean you have to hate everything that doesn't have a vagina. I heard on the radio yesterday that you are angry that male and female co-workers date. Newsflash... men are usually attracted to women and vice-versa. I also heard you're complaining that the Target CEO is endorsing someone who doesn't support gay marriage and donated $150,000 to his campaign.. This is America last I checked, and you can vote how you want. Look, I understand you guys may not be feeling so fresh down there these days, but no need to be crazy about it.

...that's it? Both those problems have NOTHING to do with feminism. Many people think office dating is bad, many people think that giving money to a candidate who said that Muslims are right in killing homosexuals and implied that America should do so too is wrong, although it's mainly because corporations should not give money to campaigns from the company's money. Sure, it's probably the asshole he gave the money that sparked the conflict, but it's true, companies really shouldn't give company money to anyone running for office, and up until very recently there was a long-standing law that made doing so illegal. Well anyway, my point is it has nothing to do with feminism. The first thing you said, about feminists being against office dating - that is obviously only the views of a few. I'm sure there are some uber anti-feminists who think people shouldn't date if they work together. It's not really a big deal, and as I said, has nothing to do with feminism.

Also, making a post about "whiners" is pretty ironic when you do nothing but whine about THEM.

Not all feminist are outragious.  I consider myself a mild feminist because I believe in female rights & support female issues.  I however, think some feminist cross the line by trying to take men's rights to benefits themselves more.  I think everyone should be equal, & no gender should try to take advantage of the other.  I also don't believe in abortion, which makes many feminist angry at me.  I'm interested in women have rights that they "should" have, & not rights that just cross the line, meaning taking away from someone else.  Feminist need to be more open to others' opinions if they want others to be open to them.

Well what do you think about women who have lots of guilt free sex? Are they slut in your eyes?

What about guys who do the exact same thing? Are they less "dirty" in your opinion?

If you maintain that guys should get a pass where girls get mud thrown at them, then it shows that the feminist/women's rights whatever you want to call it movement still has a lot of work left to do.

There is a big difference between legal rights and social norms. Legally, women may have few if any barriers left, but the social norms and people's prejudices that remain decades after the overt discrimination went away still form a formidable a hurdle. Only difference now is that they're harder to spot.

I know that in America advocating social engineering, since this is what it basically comes down to, is not fashionable. I feel this is a good application of social engineering, but as long as it's bottom-up as opposed to top-down change then I think it should be palatable.

You never really asked a question there. People have their beliefs, whether they are against dating in the office or gay marriages or whatever! Just because some women have these beliefs and ideas, doesn't mean we are all crazy as you so rudely claim. So quit calling us whiners! Men complain about plenty of crap to, so your not completely innocent! Your saying this is America, which means freedom of speech which means we can express our ideas even if you decide to go online and complain about them!

Often they even turn the tables...and when they hurt men..they don't care. Feminism is more about making sure women and men understand that they can do anything they want. Lots of women (and men) are still roped into stereotypical gender roles that don't bring them happiness. Not that they can't bring happiness, it's just when you're forced into it.

Also, feminists exist because there is still mistreatment of women elsewhere in the world. Most of the focus for modern day women doesn't like in America but in third world countries where bride burning and genital mutilation are common.

Please don't confuse feminists with feminazis. It gives us a bad name. I'm a feminist. I'm working towards my PhD and am strong and independent and don't need a boyfriend to be happy. However, I still like clothes, cooking, makeup, romance, etc.
