What Girls & Guys Said

+1 yProbably not much. Especially with me being a woman knowing I spend a lot more money on useless items than a man does. They probably drop money on sports and concerts which I think enhances their happiness. So maybe alcohol but both sexes do that. So honestly I don’t think many things. They may spend a lot of money on dinners and drinks while courting various females. There’s that. Cars may be a big one. But I think women have started to match them in that department. Same with shoes. So it’s all relative.
10 ReplyTools & Machinery. Some guys actually use all their shit frequently but at least half of these guys don't use it even close to enough to pay for itself. My housemate did a polymechanic apprenticeship so that's his profession even though he works as head of customer service now and he was excited he got a lathe (a big machine that spins shit fast so you can work on it) for cheap like 500 bucks and 50 for the transport, then he moved house and had to move the thing again 2 tons. And I don't think he's used it once in 2 years+. He'll buy anything if he thinks it's worth more than he's paying though like old furniture. Cars and bikes are probably also up there.
00 ReplyFor sure gaming and video games since many of those games are used by guys to relax and as you can spend money in those games to improve your character without effort and take a short cut many guys do that.
Some guys donate money to streamers they like.
Some guys spend money on cam girls or onlyfans. But other things are soft drinks and snacks.
Some guys also spend money expensive clothes or items they actually don´t need like accessoirces or expensive suits.
So all in all guys do that, too. It´s just less or differently advertised because it´s often connected to things and has not that much of a personal connection to your own body but more a function that is connected to your "mission" or plan of life.00 ReplyVideogames not $60 games mind you but like $20 to $30 games. I used to spend $25 on a skin care system called Tiege Hanley ended up cancelling when it went to $35. Computer parts, I am not one to upgrade my computer but needed a 500 MB SSD card which was $125 and got two sticks of DDR4 RAM which was $60. Needed it as now my computer boots up faster and doesn't lag. Music, I used to buy lots of albums but now it's rare maybe one or two depending on the artist. Movie streaming, I have Peacock and Disney Plus. PlayStation Plus, $42 for a year. $49, Xbox Series controller, I bought two of them as they were on sale.
09 Reply- +1 y
As far as movie streaming goes, you'd be better off going to yard sales and thrift stores and shopping on eBay to find the movies that you want. If you own them, you will never have to pay a subscription fee ever again. (And you can still watch them even if you don't have internet.)
- +1 y
@Jamie05rhs
Peacock is mainly for WWE and movies. I watched Halloween Kills and saved me $9 at the movies. Disney Plus I got free for 6 months but will cancel it. My nieces love Disney though yeah it's cheaper to buy them the DVDs instead. Probably do that for Christmas - +1 y
- +1 y
And you can get movies from Redbox. They're like $2 each. Sometimes $1.
- +1 y
But yeah, buying DVDs for them is a good idea. :)
(It's funny, though; most people already own most if not all of the Disney movies. Check the attic. They're probably in a box somewhere.) - +1 y
@Jamie05rhs
I don't have a ton of Disney movies. I joined Disney Movie Club and for $1 was able to get a few movies. - +1 y

Rent (more men chose to live alone rather than tough it out with a roommate),
Laptops or tech equipment with unnecessary specs
video games,
car stuff,

Girlfriends. Haters gonna hate, but some men spend too much $$ on their girl friend when they could be saving it for their joint house if he was truly committed 🤷🏻♀️11 Reply- +1 y
Lol being single for many years helped saved money for my house. And no kids
+1 yThis is an excellent point you bring up. I just saw a commercial by a group of women who are running a campaign to get other women to save just 2% extra out of every paycheck to fund their retirement. Because so many women these days are living in poverty in their elder years. They want to encourage women to think about their future and make sure they have enough money saved up.
https://youtu. be/IOeXCCRbf_016 Reply- +1 y
Wow. It seems like a lot of people don’t think about the future (not disputing what you were saying, just my observation) I already have a 401k started and no one else my age does, hell a lot of people my age won’t hold down a damn job let alone have a retirement plan. But anyways, I have the 401k, an emergency savings, and my bills are always paid on time. This is why I don’t think there’s anything working with shopping, but I know a lot of people will shop whether they have the money or not
- +1 y
@desperatelyhungry Wow- good for you! I'm impressed. It sounds like you're on the right track there.
As far as shopping goes, yeah, it's totally fine as long as you budget for it. - +1 y
by the way, to answer your original question, the only thing I spend money on unnecessarily is cars. Though you can't blame me TOO much, because I probably only spend $3000 extra on one vehicle (just to get the one I really like.). But yeah, I know that is kind of dumb.
- +1 y
I think another reason people dont have a 401k or savings is cause people are living paycheck to paycheck and need that money immediately to pay off bills, buy grocery, medication, etc. Now a days with everything being so expensive now, you would need at least 2 million or more in your savings/401k just to get by. I have retired people still working at my job, it's quite sad if you ask me.
- +1 y
@BlueScorpio Oh, I agree with you! 100%!
+1 yIt's hard to say. You could say weed, but that's kimf of a lifestyle choice. Maybe it would be a waste to one guy but a near necessity to another.
Honestly the only thing I can really think of is woman. Guys will literally go broke spending all their money on women they don't care about. So I think that could be easily called a waste.

Sports Jerseys, when they are not rich by any means, yet they go and buy sports jerseys of their favorite sports teams and make their owners rich
00 ReplyFor me personally, coins. I have spent a few hundred bucks collecting old coins, specialty coins, proof coins.
For some others, shoes. I dont get the point of spending thousands on a pair of kicks that ya can't even wear outside! XD00 ReplyY'all guys lying about your subscriptions to Pornhub and Onlyfans. LOL
