What unnecessary things do men spend too much money?

It seems like a lot of women (myself included so I’m not judging) spend money on things that aren’t necessary and are really kind of a waste of money, but that we enjoy, such as; getting nails done, dying hair, buying things just cause they’re cute like tumblers or sunglasses, and often having excess of such items. What are unnecessary things a lot of men spend their money on?

Stupid loud cars, quads, dirt bikes, etc. One of the "man" things that annoys the crap out of me! Loud neighbors grrrr 😭 Women, kids, house, bills, rent, etc. Electronics. Video games. Traveling

Probably not much. Especially with me being a woman knowing I spend a lot more money on useless items than a man does. They probably drop money on sports and concerts which I think enhances their happiness. So maybe alcohol but both sexes do that. So honestly I don’t think many things. They may spend a lot of money on dinners and drinks while courting various females. There’s that. Cars may be a big one. But I think women have started to match them in that department. Same with shoes. So it’s all relative.

Tools & Machinery. Some guys actually use all their shit frequently but at least half of these guys don't use it even close to enough to pay for itself. My housemate did a polymechanic apprenticeship so that's his profession even though he works as head of customer service now and he was excited he got a lathe (a big machine that spins shit fast so you can work on it) for cheap like 500 bucks and 50 for the transport, then he moved house and had to move the thing again 2 tons. And I don't think he's used it once in 2 years+. He'll buy anything if he thinks it's worth more than he's paying though like old furniture. Cars and bikes are probably also up there.

For sure gaming and video games since many of those games are used by guys to relax and as you can spend money in those games to improve your character without effort and take a short cut many guys do that.
Some guys donate money to streamers they like.
Some guys spend money on cam girls or onlyfans. But other things are soft drinks and snacks.
Some guys also spend money expensive clothes or items they actually don´t need like accessoirces or expensive suits.
So all in all guys do that, too. It´s just less or differently advertised because it´s often connected to things and has not that much of a personal connection to your own body but more a function that is connected to your "mission" or plan of life.

Videogames not $60 games mind you but like $20 to $30 games. I used to spend $25 on a skin care system called Tiege Hanley ended up cancelling when it went to $35. Computer parts, I am not one to upgrade my computer but needed a 500 MB SSD card which was $125 and got two sticks of DDR4 RAM which was $60. Needed it as now my computer boots up faster and doesn't lag. Music, I used to buy lots of albums but now it's rare maybe one or two depending on the artist. Movie streaming, I have Peacock and Disney Plus. PlayStation Plus, $42 for a year. $49, Xbox Series controller, I bought two of them as they were on sale.

This is an excellent point you bring up. I just saw a commercial by a group of women who are running a campaign to get other women to save just 2% extra out of every paycheck to fund their retirement. Because so many women these days are living in poverty in their elder years. They want to encourage women to think about their future and make sure they have enough money saved up.

It's hard to say. You could say weed, but that's kimf of a lifestyle choice. Maybe it would be a waste to one guy but a near necessity to another.

Honestly the only thing I can really think of is woman. Guys will literally go broke spending all their money on women they don't care about. So I think that could be easily called a waste.
