What do you think of these as wedding rings?

They are made of tungsten carbide, a very durable material that are more scratch resistant than other ring materials. They will shatter under pressure, unlike gold which will bend. But they are significantly cheaper to replace if that does happen.

Would you buy this as a couple who are not materialistic or do you think it’s better to wait and get a more “real” wedding ring?

The theoretical point of wedding rings is acting a sign of your mutual love and bond; the practical point of wedding rings is to prop up jewelry companies. Whatever works for you as a couple... works. It doesn't need to please anyone else.

Um, unless it's made from the intestines of babies or something horrible like that. But that kinda goes without saying. I know one couple that wasn't really into jewelry that, rather than getting metal rings for one another, planted rings of trees for each other instead.

A friend of mine has a Tungsten carbide ring as his wedding band. I like it! It doesn’t look like these, his looks like white gold, with black inlay down the center of it. I do know it was VERY expensive. These really aren’t my style. I guess I am more traditional.

Yes, they come in many different styles. I’m surprised your friend’s was really expensive. I thought one of the points of getting tungsten is the value to cost.

I guess it’s what you consider expensive. He bought it five years ago and it cost $1200. To me, for just a basic wedding band, it seemed expensive. What do you think? I have no idea what guy’s bands cost tbh.
