How to help a suicidal person

Comming from a guy who has battle suicidal thoughts for 13 years I feel I can educate people a little so that they might be able to help other or at least keep their stupid unhelpfull comments to themselves.

-Never tell them to call the Suicide hotline-

Chances are this person WILL NEVER call this, why? because they know they will get distracted and soon enough some ambulance is gonna go to thier house and take them away to a mental institution.

-Never use the clice" permanet solution to a temporary problem"

Mental healht problems, believe it or not are FOREVER they never get better people will always have this issues to deal with and so the problem is also permanent. You should steer clear of works that might upset the person. We all know this clice NEVER works the person who is suicidal will have veruy strong(although warper) logic on why his life sucks, instead of questioning it, try to help them find a solution to their problems. If not then at least talk to them and ask them about the problem. sometimes venting will keep them distracted untill the spisode passes.

- NEVER and again NEVER say they are looking for attention-

suicide is a very serious thing and yoiu should never downplay anyones problems when a person says he wants to kill himself, chances are he'e been holding these feelings inside and now they are bursting out. anything you say might upset them more and push them to the edge and BAM suicide attempt! Choose your words carefully!

-NEVER tell them to go to the hospital-

Mental insititutions are literall HELL nurses are really bad to the people and other mentally ill pattients WILL get agresive and all they will do is pump your loved one with harmfull medicine to "help" their condition but soon enough you will start to notice the person is not feeling better at ALL and only having serious side effects and addiction to medicine.

Please note that ythis comes from my experience and suicide is a very serious matter you can prevent it although this is not na extensive list try to be empathetic and take care of mentally ill people they literally have hell inside their head so dont make it worse, please!
