Are women attracted to guys with sense of humour or do they just laugh at handsome guys?

Question

When asked about the most attractive feature in a potential mate tons of women say something like that " I want a guy who can make me laugh " . There is some truth to this  in my opinion. It's a result of the fact that women are neervous around good looking men and they giggle.
1. Video nr 1 .  This guy made her giggle like a schoolgirl even though he didn't say anything even mildy amusing.
2. Rape jokes can be funny to women if a guy is hot enough.

1.Well, my personal take on this is that well, I don't find a sense of humour in a guy attractive. Why? Because I don't erm 'require'a man to make me laugh, why because if theyre really attractive i'll laugh awkwardly anyway because of what im imagining (believe it or not im thinking of fairytale/ happy ever after/dont judge me..) and I'm stopping myself from saying anything weird by laughing
2. Well by rape jokes I'll assume your referring to a man forcing himself on a woman. I think any girl who finds that funny is an thoughtless and idiotic human being. Just as any guy giggling at a man being forced by another man or weird old lady is just as idiotic...
3. And I like to make the jokes so i think its cute when a guy (average or hotty) laughs so I guess it depends on the gal ;)

Depends on the girl, only dumb superficial girls laugh at an unfunny guy simply due to looks...me personally, the number one thing i find hot about a guy is his ability to make me laugh...it makes me feel good inside and cheers me up, its the main thing i look for, not looks. I've dated really hot guys who haven't made me laugh, i never faked a laugh nor did i see them again. whereas i've known guys i'm not attracted to but after a while, their ability to make me giggle has drawn me to them, i've started to become attracted to them and want them. there's this one guy i miss, and his ability to make me laugh so hard is the main thing i miss!!

I have an obnoxious laugh that makes me self-conscious, so I don't laugh easily. When I do laugh at someone's joke, it's because I find it genuinely funny. That is attractive, because it means they got me to open up on some level. If a guy happens to be good looking, it's a bonus, but I'm not going to laugh at someone's joke just because he's handsome.

By the way, I think you're forgetting that people have different brands of humor. A joke that's hilarious to one person might not be even remotely funny to another. For example, I don't laugh at rape jokes...

I definitely do laugh harder when I think a guy is hot, but I don't even know I'm doing it until someone (usually a guy friend) calls me out on it. It's not to say that I didn't find him someone funny, just not as funny as my flirty girl cackle led on.

I've also found guys who weren't hot more attractive because they made me laugh.

So it's both I guess. Being hot makes you funnier and being funny makes you hotter.

We're not lying when we tell you it's important that a guy makes us laugh, we just don't always know why we're laughing.

Women are attracted to a sense of humor, and it helps put a woman at ease around that person. A good sense of humor shows that someone is quick witted, can think on their feet, and has the self confidence to allow themselves the opportunity to look stupid if the joke fails. These are all traits that a woman would want in a partner. That is why typically straight men, and lesbians tend to have a better sense of humor. They put more work into developing their sense of humor, to keep women interested. It also depends on they kind of humor the person shows. Fart jokes, and pie throwing are unlikely to do much for most women.

They'll only think your funny if they already like you for other reasons.
You could talk complete shit and they'll think it's amusing if they find you otherwise attractive.
A witty joke can be less than well received if they don't find you attractive, and you'll just end up looking like a stupid clown.

Men are also more attracted to women who laugh at their jokes, so I wonder how much laughter isn't because the ladies actually think the guy is hilarious or because they are intentionally giving him positive "I like you" feedback.

I love a trillion different comedians and they aren't usually the most physically attractive, but they make me laugh better than a guy who describes himself as funny because he quotes movies that are funny. Ugh. Lol.

I like being able to laugh WITH a guy... That'll get me the most. Whether it's some kind of witty banter, creating inside jokes, or just going back and forth doing dumb impressions or other silly stuff, THAT is what can make a connection for me. Not necessarily physically so much as interpersonally because it's the same with my female friends too. I see humor as more of a coping mechanism or social bonding tool than a lust-creator.

Its very difficult to make me laugh. I had a incredibly attractive guy in my class last year who would always make sexual jokes around me, I found it so annoying. Meanwhile any guy with dry humor will have me weak I don't care how he look. But I would rather go out with the attractive guy who can't make me laugh than the ugly guy that makes me laugh uncontrollably. A good sense of humor is a plus but not at the top of my list for what I look for in a guy.

They laugh if the guy feels higher in hiarachy. It has no much to do with good humor or bbad humor, as long as there is humor of course.

In other words bad humor from a guy that feels with high value is more effective than good humor from a guy that feels lower value to them.

If he has a good sense of humor, appearance doesn’t always matter. Id rather be with someone who was average looking but had a great sense of humor than someone who was super hot but boring. As for sexual attraction, it depends but if he's boring then it won't keep my interest for long. Dry guys don’t make me wet..LOL

Each to their own, but I love a guy who can be childish. My boyfriend is always pulling funny faces. It makes me love him more. I have a childish behaviour, at times. Perhaps I never wanted to grow up. I hate that we have to 'be serious' as adults. Fuck that. I'll still skip in the street occasionally lol.

I love the energy of kids. They are so creative and adventurous, yet vulnerable too. Their smile lights up every room.

Personally, I like a guy who is not afraid of making a fool of himself. I love a guy with vulnerability, sensitivity, charm, and energy. We can jump in puddles together, throw snowballs together and ruin our hair, and have a passionate kiss in a thunderstorm.

I would disagree with point 2. No matter how hot a guy is, rape jokes are not funny. Unless it has happened to you, I wouldn't poke fun.

I think it's a bit of both. I definitely get the nervous giggles around guys that I like already, but I also tend to find people more attractive after I find out that they are funny. Like if someone is only average to me, if they say something really funny, it bumps them up, if that makes any sense.

If a girl laughs at you just because she finds you attractive and not because she actually thinks you're funny, then she's desperate. Most girls will laugh at a guy if she thinks he's funny, regardless of whether or not she is attracted to or interested in him.
A girl may also laugh if you say something that she finds awkward and doesn't know how to respond to. That's not a good sign.

Well this is an interesting question. I never thought of this. There is one thing I want to suggest, that for different people has different type of humor. Mean they find different thing funny/not funny. So even if a guy is super hot, if the girl don't appreciate his joke then oh well. Of course there are jokes that are more general and sure to work, I will say if you just meet a girl or anyone, stick to those kind of general joke.

I think humor definitely has a lot to do with attractiveness. I don't want some guy around who never laughs at my jokes and get take jokes either. I also really appreciate, and can even fall in love with a guy who makes me laugh and smile. I love the teasing type also.

They laugh when guys they are attracted to make jokes ect, although men do this too. If humour was genuinely what made them attracted then they would be attracted to funny women too. Attraction is based on physical factors, not behavioural ones.

Personally, I find this an odd question. My laughter is not something I have tremendous control over. If I think your jokes are funny, I laugh, regardless of your gender or the way you look. End of story.

That said, rape jokes are never funny. The guy could be Adonis and I'd still be pissed. Maybe the woman just didn't have enough self-respect. Or something.

I rather have a guy who can make me laugh than a pretty face to look at with the personality or sense of humor of a doornail.
