Someone who's in control is typically collected and reasonable, and so doesn't need to throw meaningless words around and socialize with no purpose to it. Femininity is frantic and emotional, and collective at that - feminine women need constant reassurance from their peers, masculine men do not. Hence, the group is to be led by a man and partaken in my a woman.
I'm just speaking stereotypes, of course, that stuff doesn't apply to half the people I know.10 Reply

+1 yI'm not sure. I thought quiet/shy girls were somehow more feminine because they're seen as more passive? I mean in terms of the stereotype that defines feminine. However their is that whole chatty girls talking nonsense stereotype, alongside the quiet rational minded male... So who knows.

Feminine and want us mas ill e is a culture. Jew subject to change depending g in location and. Decade / century / millennia.
In some yogurts/ times in history quiet reserved was/ is fem02 Reply- +1 y
typing on my iphone and tin was jumping.
anyhow. fem/ masc are not fixed ideas. they change.
depends on culture. and time and political situation/ context.
in some cultures women are expected to be quiet and reserved this is seen as modest and their modest is seen as feminine.
other cultures being out going and talkative is considered social social and there social is considered feminine.
other cultures men are though to be out going and that is seen as masculine.
then cultures where the quiet reserved = strong silent type= masculine.
i use the word culture loosely. as in belief location history indivual view... depends on the view of the person you ask.
personally i think fem and masculine are junk terns used to further w/e case the person using them is attempting to make.
originally they were supposed to represent traits associated with women and men. but these obviously we all share all of the traits that are ascribed to either femininor masculine. - +1 y
These ‘natural traits’ were enforced on pain of torture or death or complete alienation.
Fem comes from latin meaning one who gives suck. Obviously a womanly trait. as well as female reproductive system etc.
otherwise im not sure what purpose using the words feminine and masculine hold when referring them to woman or man respectively... since you can just as easily say woman or man.
the traits associated with feminine or masculine -commonly meant to refer to women or men, are traits women and men share.
the definitions are not the issue. bc all of these behaviors exist within human nature...For clarities sake I think you could do away with the terms or do way with the association of the terms to women or men, respectively.
What good does it do to say women are feminine and men are maculine when there are more than TWO sexes, and everyone is both... When there is the freedom, physically and mentally to be so.
Its just an unnecessary universal mind fuck.

+1 yI do not think so. Some girls are more social than other girls. Some guys are more social than other guys. It has nothing to do with whether you are more feminine or not.

Asker+1 yWell obviously we have men who are super chatty and woman are very quiet. The point is at least one variety of dominant men... "strong silent type" are not chatty. in my opinion they don't "bark" as they are confident in themselves and so don't need to prove themselves to anyone. There are other reasons present too obviously.
+1 yGuys are masculine when they keep their words, making intents clear and taking actions.
Girls are feminine because the ways they dress, sound, and the need for them to talk as a way to build bonding relationships w people11 Reply
Asker+1 yI like this as the best answer so far. In general what people actually do than what they speak 'says' a lot about them...obviously.

u +1 yBeing more introverted or extroverted doesn't really play much into whether a guy or girl is more masculine or feminine, but yes, a guy can be introverted and masculine and a girl can be extroverted and feminine.

+1 yNo, social class does not make someone masculine or feminine. Masculinity & femininity are usually measured on how a guy or girl carries themselves, presents themselves, etc.

I guess it may depend on the culture. In old traditional Japan, a quiet woman was considered good wife material because it was seen as feminine, compassionate, etc... But I have seen many quiet girls who have many "masculine" traits that would label them as a tomboy. So no, generally I don't think social class determines if someone is feminine or masculine.

*Social status - meaning how they interact with others
+1 yI don't think so. I'm not a girly girl. I'm rather an introvert and prefer guys that are not as reserved ad I am. I like guys that are open and talk more than girls.

+1 yI think masculine/feminine might be shown more in how they speak as opposed to how much.

Asker+1 yThat makes sense.

Perhaps. However, there are many guys who have physical traits that's viewed as feminine, but in reality, they are actually quite masculine.
Personally, I think masculinity/femininity is often expressed in identifiable behavior that is fairly or unfairly associated to one's gender behavior/roles.
+1 yI think that's right... shy and reserved women tend to be less feminine... I, as a quiet male, tend to be more masculine.

Asker+1 yNo. I don't think I have it backwards. Men don't like to bark. www.psychologytoday.com/.../the-strong-silent-type-the-male-advantage

Silent men are usually passive men. Being passive is a feminine trait.
- +1 y
I agree with you, silent men tend to see failure as an importance eventhough it doesn't hurt much for them to speak out their words.
Asker+1 yYou are assuming silent men are passive.
- +1 y
Only players use silence as a weapon. Most guys who are quiet are just scared.
Asker+1 yHmm, I would disagree. And these silent guys are scared of what exactly?
- +1 y
Scared to speak up for a myriad of reasons.
Asker+1 ySo what do you think of Jason Bourne? www.google.com/url
- +1 y
I never liked those movies lol
Asker+1 yThat does not answer the question. But do you see my point? His character does not bitch, does not bark... he simply does things... and that's what dominant guys do. They walk the walk... instead of just talk.
- +1 y
We're thinking of 2 different scenarios. You're thinking of the short yappy annoying guy. I'm thinking of the coward who can't talk to girls :)
Asker+1 yTalk to them as in a pickup artist? or talk to them... like a friend or simply generally hold conversation? cause the second would be pretty strange.
- +1 y
Talk to them in a way that makes the girl want to fuck them lmao.
Asker+1 yonce again... you seem to be straying from the topic.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yNo girls should be passive. Guys shouldn't

Asker+1 ySilence does not make you passive.
Opinion Owner+1 yThat's part of if
Asker+1 ySo what do you think of the guy that is the protagonist in this series: www.google.com/url
He is submissive?
Opinion Owner+1 yNo he is not. He is seen as a aggressive man. He is a spy
Asker+1 ySo you see my point? He is not flamboyant, he is not talkative, he is quiet and he simply takes action instead of partaking in bullshit 'barking wars'... which is a lot more than guys who usually just talk. His dominance is unmatched.
Opinion Owner+1 yNo I don't see your point because he is manly
Asker+1 yI am awaiting your argument.
Opinion Owner+1 yI'm not here to argue. You asked me my opinion and you're telling me I'm wrong
Being passive is part of being feminine
Being aggressive is part of being masculine. The guy is a spy. That's a pretty manly job. You know fighting the bad guys? That's what the movies and society tell us
Asker+1 yI am saying being quiet is not passive. Jason Bourne is quiet... and just like you said... he is extremely manly.
Opinion Owner+1 yPassive is submissive and obedient
Asker+1 yquiet does not mean submissive and obedient. It means not being flamboyant and airheaded.
Asker+1 ywhoops i think i am sounding too aggressive now. but i think you get my point.
Asker+1 yby the way other examples are wolverine... of masculine male who speak less or only when needed. They last thing they are are submissive.
Do guys prefer quiet or talkative girls?
