What's the difference between insecurity and immaturity?

It seems like people who are good with people are more likely to use the word "insecure" to describe women... and assert that insecurity can affect people regardless of age.

But a large handful of people use the word immature very liberally when describing people. So what is the difference between insecurity and immaturity?

They are totally different concepts.

An insecurity is something that prevents you from being confident. For example, you might have an insecurity about acne and it prevents you from wanting to go out or talk to people when you have giant pus-filled zits on your face. Or maybe all your friends have a lot more money that you, so you spend a lot of money frivolously when you're around them just to show them that you can keep up.

Immaturity is not acting grown up. For example, if you had an uncontrollable giggle fit after you farted in an elevator, most people would think you were immature. It can also apply to attitudes. For example, if you thought women shouldn't ride motorcycles because that's a guy thing, I'd say that's immature because you haven't thought it through in an adult-like manner.

Insecurity has to do with their feelings towards themself and how they project that.
Immaturity often is used to describe someone with a childish mindset or naive idea of how things are. They lack life experience that molds them into a mature adult.

One has to do with how they view themselves, the other has to do with how they view the rest of the world and others.

Being insecure is not feeling worthy, whether it be looks, body, personality, etc. immaturity is not acting your age (acting like a kid)
