Why do you guys always assume a hot girl is terrible?

Like whenever you people post questions regarding hot girls, you always say something like “she’s hot, so she’s obviously mean and bitchy” or “she really hot, so she has no personality”. Why do you think that? Aren’t you not supposed to judge a book by its cover? Are you just that insecure that by bringing down a physical attractive woman is how you feel better about yourself because you think you aren’t worth her or are jealous of her? Or are you seriously that ignorant to believe that hot girls are shallow and manipulative and have little else to them except that they are hot?

In psychology, we call this the availability heuristic.

It's a mental shortcut used in making snap-shot judgments about people or situations. It's an evolved function of the human brain that works by providing you with the most prominent (i. e., statistically common) examples--or, in this case, stereotypes--about a person or situation based on immediately observable features.

The purpose for it is so that you can come to a quick conclusion about the outcome of an interaction.
Is it always correct? No. It relies on superficial (oftentimes only visual) qualities.
Is it efficient? Yes. For the same reason that is it sometimes incorrect.
Is it adaptive? Yes. It assumes a Type I Error kind of mindset.
With your hot girl example, it introduces the possibility of potentially rejecting a hot but decent girl, but makes up for it by circumventing the more likely scenario of accepting a hot, but terrible girl.

The most beautiful girls I knew, like, the ones who looked like top models, were some of the sweetest people I knew. I think that the most average hot ones are the ones guys complain about. Although, in my experience, most of them are nice too. But supposing guys are right, I think it has to do with how much they're hit on, and/ or they're referring to women who not only are hot but have been with many men, had their heart broken, been played, used and abused many times and are now more abrasive. Just what I think. People are quick to judge others but don't want to bother about what's behind their behavior.

Well I try not to judge but it’s surprisingly the opposite is true. The hot ones tend to be kinder and social once you get over the fact there hot and treat them like everyone else and there guard drops. It’s probably because they so hot they get judged a lot more so they are relieved when they find someone who doesn’t treat them like another species. Hot girls generally only act more aloof or bitchy as defensive mechanism to weed out the undesirable or creeps who just want to tumble. The less attractive or average ones tend to be less social and more jaded since they constantly feel under appreciated. But of course there are exceptions regardless of there appearance.

The opposite is usually true. Thenoone said it perfectly below, hot girls have shields up because of all the bottom feeder or socially awkward guys who try and interact with her like she’s a Martian. I actually see this all the time in real life how guys react to a hot girl and it’s freakin’ hilairous.

There ARE the odd ones who, if you DONT pay them the same attention as other guys, get seriously into a huff about it 😂. In general though I find if you talk to them without hitting on them then they are really nice.

I believe its less to do with a general assumption and more to do with self worth. Women who are stunning will generally hold out for an adonis of a man and anyone less than that get brushed to the side in a dismissive manner. A lot of them can be a bit... thoughtless aboutt it too, lacking empathy towards the poor guy who is approaching her and not up to the par of what she is holding out for. It kind of gives them a reputation of being shallow and mean. It takes a lot of courage to approach a woman and being laughed at, given the 'did you seriously think this was gonna work' eye or the disbelieving 'not a chance in hell' look can be quite crushing. If you kept turning people down because they werent good looking enough, hot enough or perfect enough for your standarda, pretty soon you will have a label.

I think it's the stereotype that has been instilled in people by Hollywood and the media as well as a degree of jealousy, in that people think if someone looks so good they also couldn't possibly be a good person.

The thing with hot chick privilege (which is white privilege on steroids) is that most are oblivious to it. You know, the one who hasn't bought her own drinks since forever. They are used to constant attention and privileges. Like professional athletes, the choices are many. In my own personal opinion, id rather not be with a hot girl because I'll worry she'll try to take advantage of the fact that so many guys like her and leave me soon to be with a new guy. If I had a girl i only like for personality I'll feel more comfortable with her because if she has the personality i look for (caring and sweet), she'd never flirt with other guys, talk to other guys and tell guys off who try to take her from me. Hollywood films even if they didn't create it-they reinforce this mindset as attractive women are typically portrayed as shallow, petty, stuck-up, and narcissistic within said films-particularly the ones featuring high school and college settings these characters are meant either as a main antagonist, or at the very least were intentionally written with the intent to make them unlikable to the audience.

5.5-6.5 are the worst,(due to insecurity. The end up think that they're 10's)
then 7-8's are the best. 8.5 and up are bitches. Below 5 are quiet, but have that much low self esteem that they don't even get noticed.
