Why are anime characters so attractive?

If I ever saw a guy just walking down the street who looked like Itachi, I would honestly think he is maybe gay and the bad kind of emo/gothic weird.
Or Goku some roided up, gym junkie with very strange hair...

But they are really handsome in the anime, along with countless other characters, male and female. Just look at android 18!

Not sure if its the artwork style or just the allure of the characters and their world, but Im not ashamed to admit my anime crushes lol

Im not against people having anime crushes, I see how they are appealing or even sexy, but I find no moral benefit for myself to crush over them... I used to for a time... but I just stopped for whatever reason...

Tru, honestly the "hot" characters are generically the same - the guys all dreamy and heroic but a bad attitude / bad side, or the girl is all quiet or ovely cutesy with breasts bigger than jupiter

That depends which genre you watch. I don't like the ones that enforced certain things like 'you are a? so you should be/have?'. Personally, I like watching romance stuff aimed at the opposite gender. Not only because the dudes are wimpy, but also because it gives better insight into the girl's mind.

I'm not sure if it's a particular genre or Style but there's one I watched where it wasn't about pointing out what kind of personality the characters had but it was focused on a really intricate storyline was very emotional is very beautiful I'm not even sure how to pronounce the title is written in Japanese but I caught it on Netflix I was amazed

If you enjoy plot heavy/emotional things like that. You could try 'Koe no Katachi' 'Kimi no Na Wa' or 'Tokyo Magnitude 8.0'. Some of them have good plots like that. Well.. it depends what you personally like. 😁

Oooh, I must watch. Thats the main reason I fell in love with anime were the diverse (sometimes completely wonderland [Bleach... wtf happened?]) storylines

Emotionally heavy ones are my favourites. Those are the ones I seek, if I'm looking for new stuff. The best stories are the ones that have the power to move you to tears. But then again.. I may just be sensitive to deep emotions.. 😅

No problem with that. Im not sensitive in the least, so it feels good personally to feel those deep emotions I rarely do. I like the deep messages within the plots too. Im so mad that I started to care more about people around me after watching Fruits Basket - I was like, a fake girl has more compassion than me... I have officially failed as a fellow human being :(

Yeah they can do that. It's been a long while since I watched Fruits Basket.. These anime does something similar, but to me it shows/teaches emotions on a deeper level. Like, you learn of the different perspectives on those feelings. That is fascinating to me. :)
