Why Asian-American guys can't date outside their race like the girls?

I am an Asian-American male, 20 years old and I still am single. I'm in college and I still could not find a girl. I see Asian-American girls (even my sister) dating Caucasian guys and wonder why can't it ever be the other way around. I've had this question since I was a kid and still do even to this day. Is it because Asian men are perceived as effeminate and weak? Is it because Hollywood stereotypes us. Or is it do to aesthetics (i.e. black men are more likely to date white women than white men with black women). I don't want to hear the short height thing because I stand 6'3" which is above the average Asian male and even the average American. Even tall, I still can't get any and I feel that my race must be what's ailing me. I fear that I am automatically left out of the dating game because of my ASIAN DNA! I never even immigrated so I don't have a stereotypical accent. I even consider plastic surgery sometimes. Is there any way for me to date without my race becoming a barrier?

I don't see why it should be a barrier. I think it's true that girls usually consider people inside their own race before others,but not always for the reasons you think. Girls are pretty insecure and assume most of the time that guys don't find them attractive, even if they do. Particularly if they think they look different from girls you would usually date in your own race. So if you show them you're interested first they'll consider you more. Hope this helps!

Geez, you sound like someone I use to know in college. How exactly do you approach women you're attracted to? Do you go up to them already knowing they'll reject you and end up being unsure of yourself? We instantly pick up on that and start to judge you right off the bat (yeah it sucks, but it happens).

Well I think you guys are amazing :P I don't think you should alter your apperance hun because you haven't found someone in your area. Don't put yourself down because there are so many women in this world that look past all of the stereotype stuff and you just ran into a few women who havebt opened their eyes yet :).

Pretty much how people see the females as the epitome of feminine and innocent they see the men just like that just like how black men are seen as super-macho unfortunately it applies to the girls too (unless proven otherwise). It sucks but that's how it is *shrug*

a pic would be helpful...usually it doesn't matter for your generation, just remember that hte guy usually has the make the move/show interest
