If a guy is chatting with a girl one-on-one and he's squeezing a ball in his hand on a table and doesn't usually do so, what does that mean?

It's a secret communication technique among men. Playing with differently-shaped objects carries different meanings.

For example, a man talking to you while playing with a hexagonal object is trying to convey a different message compared to one playing an octagonal object. And don't even get me started on the crazy message a guy would want to subtly convey to you if he were playing with a decagonal object!!!
