Also, they used to say that if you were right-handed, you were left brain dominant, but as many kids in school were forced over to their other hand to write, this was later thrown out as being any kind of indicator. But I am left-handed. Worldwide, about 10% are left-handed. Men are more likely to be left-handed than women and express the left-hand more dominantly. According to studies, 70-95% of the world's population is right-handed.

I thought I was balanced. Most people think I'm artistic and emotional. Maybe because I think all the time, they would perceive my facial expression - frowning as disturbance. The obvious left-brain dominance is the way I enjoy analyzing, esp. when I climb. Image training is fun and helps me see what should be done prior to actions. I'm not good at math either. It's more like calculating a possible outcome in various scenarios. (If I do this, what's next? - for instance)
When I sing I use techniques, not feelings. When I work on character design, my drawings are usually mini (or lazy) versions of someone or something. I love fantasy movies too, but I can't make up my own stories. Cooking seems to be the most creative thing I can do. I prefer adapting and inventing recipes rather than repeatedly following the same old ones. Making bread would be boring if I use a machine. By the way, directions is my weakness. It's such a challenge for me to picture a map in my mind. Getting lost often; I question my spatial intelligence from time to time. In short, for art, I think I'm just good at copying.
Amanda I think so for sure! My order is different then each that I have looked at. They would make sense as even people who secure similarly will likely have answered different questions differently to come to an overall similar number.

I leaned "Right Brain," though I went almost an even split actually. I was actually surprised. I thought I'd fall further on the right-side of things. Usually, I tend to be more of an artsy/creative type. Then again, I do enjoy programming, though I'm pretty average at math.
I'm sorry to rain on your question but this myth based on studies performed in the 50s has been debunked by modern science since many years back. Sadly that information doesn't reach the public as easily. There are multiple studies (just google) explaining why this is simply not true.
Left brain 56% right brain 44%. I found this a bit difficult however (for instance the question of which I would rather be successful at astronomy or novelist, those are actually the two things I've always wanted to do (so I just had to randomly pick one because I couldn't choose). I think I am not particularly left brained when it comes to order (my house and room are in disarray at all times) and math, with the right brain I think its predominantly the creative aspect (love exploring ideas) and imagination (it was my refugee for most of my life honestly).
66% left, 34% right. Overall the result I would have expected. Yet when I was taking the test, around 40-50% of the questions were so difficult to answer that I had to "just pick one" because I identified with both choices equally. But looking at the list of traits in the results, I definitely think I am more inclined to the left brain side.
I honestly don't actually believe this "left brain/right brain" research, though. I see this test as a fun way to spend a few minutes. The actual science is in dispute.

Heh, yeah. I didn't know what I wanted to study, but then I decided that I wanted to focus on the things I find difficult (and wanted to get out in 4 years). In retrospect, I should maybe have spent more time on my strengths. Any subject can be explored rather deeply, and I can grow faster when something feels intuitive to me. I learned that I'm a big fan of mathematical modeling, though. :d
I prefer being creative. I'll utilize the analytical part of my brain to test my instincts and am hesitant to rely on them by themselves, BUT my first response is almost always to go with my immediate instinct or impression.
Aaaah so there does seem to be a customized result for all of us then - your words are in a different order than me and @Clo917. You specifically mention instinct. Interesting.
I find you rational, reasonable and analytical, always self-aware and able to give reasons why you are the way you are. This awareness and humility is very appealing and interesting. So you saying you prefer to be creative and instinctual is also interesting. Though I have read elsewhere that instinct and making decisions based on gut is actually the result of filing away knowledge and experiences so that what feels natural is actually learned wisdom over time.
I am extremely high on rationality. I remember one question in the test which was like, 'do you attempt to persuade people with facts and information, or attempt to find holes in their theories?' I definitely do the first. And I'm surprised my imagination is at the top of the right side. I don't think of myself as very imaginative. Maybe my left side is judging my imagination! Ha.

I think a good way to describe myself would be that I use the analytical and observant part of my brain to communicate the instinctive part of my brain. In other words, I may have an idea, thought, or impression to start, and then I will break it down to make it more understandable/tactful to myself and others.
In regards to what you were saying about the persuasion question, I remember hearing at one point that "persuasion is the guiding of truth around a person's mental road blocks." My approach to arguments and persuasion is rooted in this along with the fact that "for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. While the scientific law is meant to apply to physics, I find it's also largely true for the intellect. Rarely does simply giving facts and information cause someone to agree with me, at least in my limited experience. Instead, I like to ask questions so that they're forced to think. If I can ask questions that lead them through each step of thinking through an issue then it'll usually do one of three things. 1. It will cause us to come to a point of common understanding even if we fail to agree. 2. It will get us to a point where we do genuinely agree. 3. It will show me whether or not I can reason with a person productively and if I should continue to hold the discussion or simply leave the issue be.
Your method of asking questions is incredibly patient and understanding. As I've said many times before to you, you are mature and wise for your age. Whether this method will be effective depends entirely on who the other person is to you (how much they care about and respect your opinions) and how they conduct themselves. Are they motivated to go outside their comfort zone at all? Honestly, my husband has adopted this method as well, and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't (when it doesn't, he has at least learned about them, and then can decide for himself whether they're worth speaking to about it, or even having in his life. This is just like you. But does it change them often? No. But people tend to respect him and like him for asking questions.) It is not true that providing facts and information is often inadequate to illustrate a point, or persuade some people. There are basically two types of people - those who are persuaded by statistics, facts and figures from sound sources, and those who are persuaded by an 'emotional appeal'. They are about in equal numbers. People have preferences for how they receive and evaluate information, and people have preferences for how they then give information. The deniars of provable statistics and facts are unendingly frustrating to some, while the other type will be frustrated that their feelings on a matter don't seem to be taken into account. This is just the way it goes. As with so many things in life, it is attitude and understanding and open-mindedness about all this that matter more, I believe. Not that neither can be irrelevant or all right. But this can lead to a discussion about 'fact'. Such a hot button word nowadays. Facts are now being ignored and manipulated. Very sad. We need a common foundation on which to begin, otherwise there can never be any reconciliation or proper satsifactory compromise.
Facts can change minds from time to time. The issue arises when someone is set in their beliefs in such a way that they will accept no explanation that challenges their beliefs. This tends to apply to most of the debates in which I find myself. There are often two diametrically opposed sides to the topic stemming from fundamentally different world views. For this reason you can find plenty of facts and figures that support both sides of the argument allowing people to believe whatever they want on a subject for better or worse. It's in those situations where challenging a person to think through their own beliefs is the only thing I feel will really affect the situation, whether or not we come to an agreement.

Seriously, it’s weird. Am I a robot? I have lost all sense of ideaing. What if we are all just programmed to think that we aren’t robots. What if we are just programmed to think that blood and organs and stuff aren’t technology, but they are.
This is why Blade Runner and The Matrix are such fantastic movies. I hate robots. They're not impressive to me. Yeah, they're goona get more and more common. But I'll be dead then. So good.
Oh my god. What if doctors are the only humans and that’s why it’s so hard to become them because they trick us into thinking that it’s really difficult to be one and then they just become them instead. And what if their not even doctors, but they are engineers. I mean some of them have to be doctors in case on of them gets sick of course. Wait, no! What if the concept of sick is an illusion and we are just tricked in order to come in for an annual check up and all sicknesses that kill is are just given to us by doctors because we aren’t working properly and can’t fix us. They destroy there own creations on purpose in order to not compromise the experiment. And the reason scientists are trying to get to mars is because there spaceships and other methods of transport got destroyed and actual humans are in mars, that’s where the rest of their species are. And they are testing for life because they don’t know if their species is still alive. This would also explain why people did because doctors didn’t understand what was happening. There were a lot more distinctions in our early versions so they needed to destroy us more. And the Black Death was caused because of a virus that was present in most of the robots back then. New conspiracy theory.
I'm 83% left-brained, according to the test. Both in this and big 5, I always lose points when it comes to art, which always made me question the reliability of the correlation.
I have been drawing since preschool and I also dislike straight lines in visual arts, but otherwise I'm pathologically left-brained. So, either I'm an exception to the rule as an artsy logistician, or that rule is unreliable.
