That's a loaded question and it comes in many different forms. The most simple answer is that humans have psychological greed that transcends deep in their psyche. It is based from the survival instinct. That is the explanation at its deepest core, to expand beyond that would to be entering a world of a billion different reasons why one would think that money is the answer to everything.
The most logical and or common response is that people find meaning in inanimate objects, trinkets, shiny things, etc, etc. Material objects are are you well know the most basic form of happiness that almost anyone finds and no one is exempt from it. It can range from a cool rock in your backyard all the way to a Yacht. Obviously, most people prefer to go for the items that provide luxury or status and thus money becomes a necessary evil.
A Lot of people think its priorities, or only certain people can understand certain things, like a poor person for example will think money is the answer to everything when in reality ones status or lack thereof does not wholly determine their mindset. Iv been poor my whole life and money is nothing to me, it is a form of survival but it is not and never will be everything. In my head, it is hardly an answer none the less anything else more substantial than a means to have a little comfort in a comfortless world.
To say there is one infinite answer as to why people put money above all else is nothing more than bias opinion. The truth is there is no one reason aside from the fact that it is part of our survival instinct.

Saying money is the answer to everything, or even anyting, is like saying gasoline is the answer to everything. Gasoline is not an answer, or a question. Gasoline is fuel, and so is currency, which is fuel for our economy.
Currency is incapable of actions and thoughts. It's incapable of any kind of meaning or significance, other than what people put into it.
Money is a symbol, representing a unit measure in capital holdings, equivalent too a specific barter equivalent. Even though we are not on the barter system anymore, our economy is still based on the barter system. Each monetary unit of our national and international currency system, is constantly adjusted too a barter equivalent, iether in liquid commodities, like gold and silver, raw materials, or supplies and finished products as collateral support for backing that currency trade at any given time. Even symbols can be bought, sold, and traded, for other symbols, like cash for bonds, or stocks, or shares in a company, or patents on ideas and Technology, as long as everything being traded can be checked and confirmed, as having the value that is stated or implied.
So you see, money doesn't answer questions, but the value of money ask a lot of questions, of a lot of people, so we're in a global partnership in determining and maintaining that trust, which is what determines the value of that money.
So perhaps you question is circular, and the answer to all things, is the constant answering of the questions that we ask each other, while maintaining this one thing, called money.
The only people who believe this are people who are so poor they can't manage to keep their heads above water.
We who have our heads above water, know there is an ENOUGH point. A coupla million: savings, retirement, life insurance, health insurance, a decent car and auto insurance, home insurance, a nice home, some travel, taking care of your kids to give them a good start in life.
After all that's taken care of everything else is gravy! You don't need TOO MUCH.
When you have a surplus, then you can arrange to give money away to the needy: to education, housing and other charities. That is the most fun you can have with money.
I think some people want to believe there is a singular antidote to their issues cause it’s easier to assume a single answer can resolve all your problems than it is to do the mental and emotional and physical work that it takes to address all levels of the issue or to celebrate minor improvements without expecting total perfection in a problem situation - I know a lot of people who lie to themselves when they are disappointed cause it’s easier for them to lie than face the truth that sometimes life is unfair or unpredictable or unpleasant

If they think that money can solve all problems then they are most likely the problem themselves. They gotta start being grateful for what they do have in life and stop worrying about what they dont have.
Money plays a huge factor in ones life and anyone who denies that is broke or lying. I’ve been broke, and today I’m wealthy. Money buys you freedom to spend time with loved ones and work on skills that you’re actually passionate about it. It allows you to work on your health, relationships, and things that really matter. I can afford better food, and healthcare to live a longer life. I can travel to Hawaii with my family and come back with even more money. I can pay for my parents retirement.
I can quit my job and work on my fitness all day if I wanted to. Slaving to a paycheck your entire life is hell on earth. Depending on one boss for your quality of life and sucking up all the time for a promotion isn’t a route I’d want to take. I’d encourage everyone to start learning about personal finance, assets, and acquire a life that they love.
The best part about choosing wealth while you’re younger, is that you’ll become more and more free as you age. If you work a job your entire life not worrying about money, you’ll only specialize within your career and become more and more busy as you age. It will take you away from the things that really matter in life,
I have to fully disagree with you here. My life has dramatically improved in every way imaginable since I’ve earned my financial freedom.Because a lack of money directly correlates to stress, poor health, and lack of options in life. I'm not saying financial stability would solve everything, but it would definitely help. I'm tired of panic attacks at the end of the month because my account is in the negatives and I still need ro get a perscription and groceries for the week. I'm tired of putting exactly $10 of gas in my car and knowing exactly how many trips to the store that will get me. I'm tired of needing to get an advance on my paycheck because an unexpected $200 expense came up and I don't even have $30 to put towards it. I'm tired of knowing next week/month/year will be the same. I'm tired of knowing that at any given point I'm only one or two financial misteps away from being homeless.
Yeah, maybe money isn't everything. But there's no way being poor is better than having money.Money is a cheap substitute for life. It's easier to get money than to build a meaningful life. For people who lack meaningful lives, it's easier to blame lack of money (or lack of more money for the wealthy) than to take responsibility. I've noted all my life that the wealthiest people seem the most miserable and their family lives are the worst. The exceptions are people like Gates and Buffett who have given away almost all of their money. You would think that people would learn but people are really bad at that.
Money means nothing for me. I’m humble for what I do have and received. Sure it can be joyful to have a lot. But it’s not the answer to everything. I feel like some who think money is the answer to everything, and what I call it, the Elvis syndrome where they have had nothing in life, and buy everything they can because it’s now accessible. No I’m not hating by the way. Money is nice but for the right reasons. If you live life all for the love of money, how can you love others in life? You can’t. Loving money has an equal to emptiness. That’s just me though.
People who think money is everything, are usually deprived of it. So in some sense, it is everything to them. Money is not just a valueless small piece of paper as depicted in the images. But it can't be exchanged by everything, sure thing.
Also, i just remembered one saying by my hostory teacher from someone else, and i kind of have to agree. If money can't fix some problem, then it is not being applied enough of it. Therefore to answer your question as to why, it is basically because we as a collective is addressing value to it. If someone has, then there is someone willing to work for you.Because simple people want simple solutions to their problems, and frankly speaking, the "solution" in most people's minds is whatever they don't have, and most people regardless of their wallets do feel like they could use more money (and some DO use more money than they actually have and go on to blame everyone but themselves for this fact). With just about every woman I've dated, I'll at some point ask them what they would do of they found themselves possessing a few million dollars of discretionary spending money, and like clockwork they'll say some virtuous or charitable cause and yet not one person I've ever known to actually become financially loaded has ever done anything close to that, usually because they adopted a new set of personal life problems, realize their altruistic ideals weren't actually realistic, or simply weren't sincere in the first place and were just giving the "Miss America Pageant" answer.
Well id say you’re absolutely correct. It doesn’t mean anything. The people who hold money to a high regard are more so lower on the totem pole financially. But you can’t blame those of the more poor circumstances. Food costs money, shelter costs money, healthcare costs money, even education costs money. Yes most of these things you can learn to do but the reason we don’t have these things in our arsenal is simply because these things were ripped from low class citizens forcing us to abide and feel comfort based on the dollar.
I thibk its because people like to think there's a "universal solution" something to focus on as a end all be all. Money us a logical choice for that as its the most coveted and versital resource in our society. Even though on its own its nearly useless.
A lot of guys do and its so annoying. I want a guy whos smart with money but also knows how to live a little. Like if we go to the casino, only take in a certain amount and leave the rest at home. But a lot of guys either are too materialistic or too frugal. Its annoying
People don't believe that, they simply believe that money is, quantitatively, the answer for a heck of a lot more than virtually anything else.
Because that is the truth.
I'd rather have money than anything else in my life, it's the most important thing to have.I could write you 1000000 words on this, but lets keep it short. Basiclly it's the social medias showing all that glamorous living, The ones who pretend they are living it and of course you have those who shows you how fun this live style is without (hard work) and most of the society is following these people on their social media and try to be like them 🤷‍♂️ and they call it (best life ever)
Money to be fair can do a lot of things. You can hire people to do things for you, have security and have protection.
I'm clearly a person that can say that money is not everything but it does clearly have power, the power to do many things. It could even change your life to an extent but money is clearly not everything. Life is more than moneyIf you value money, you dont know how to value happiness from within.
You constantly need reassurance from money to be happy.
Real happiness has nothing to do with money.
If we all went into a survival mode, no electricity or food, money is only paper.Ask my ex-wife. She is a Succubus, suck life and money out of men and move onto the next.
The meaning of a Succubus. The Succubus are beautiful and desirable women, unlike their male counterparts, the Incubus. Though Succubi do sometimes have bat-like wings or demonic features, such as horns, a tail, hooves and fangs.According to me mam, some people think this way because it gives them a sense of control.
I mean they think as long as they have money in their hands they can buy anything, they can influence anyone.
They are not completely wrong as money can be a means to some of your happiness, but all that happiness is materialistic.
Real happiness comes from the happiness of the people around you and the satisfaction you get from what you do, well at least for me that is.I agree I knew some families had money and could bury everyone else's but they lacked happiness also when my Uncle was alive he had a lot of money he worked at the steel mill had a good pension but there was not much happiness with his family his wife would control him so everything was for her side of the family
Money would buy good quality healthcare for my mom and brother. Money would pay my rent and I won't have to stress about it. Money would pay for my dad's medication. Money buys me a house I can't afford. Money buys me a used car that I can't afford. Money would ensure that my disabled brother is taken care of and he can have a somewhat reasonably independent life.
I agree! I know people who put such a high value on money but they're lonley because that's all they care about and lack other important things such a being humble, love and respect & then they wonder why they're lonley and what they're missing. And it's too bad they love money too much because I dont think too highly of them

I guess it's because they're used to solve all of their problems with money. They believe they can buy anyone and anything just because they're rich. Sure, money improves our lives and it's helpful but some things can't be solved with it.
