When I lived in Toronto I rented a condo unit for about a year. No noise issues, but it was in a borderline posh part of town. I can't say that this would be universally true.

Rosedale, not far from the subway station of the same name. Nice and close to Yorkville and the Wellesley Church village. Loved that area too.

Not too far to walk to Queen's Park and one subway ride to the COC and CBC. Damn I'm getting nostalgic. Oh, and The ROM! What a great city. Are you a Torontonian?
