I would give it back , Considering my job is working with ATM’s and I know the whole dynamics of them , they would easily bust your ass if you didn’t return it and deduct it from your account making you go negative if you didn’t have the funds available in your account , so either which way they got your ass , so definitely not worth taking That chance. These machines have so many censors that track every bill that’s inside , it’s funny seeing the stupid shit people try to pull when using ATM’s that I just sit back and Shake My Head and laugh , The most common one is hearing people say they tried to withdraw a few hundred dollars and they never got their money , Most the time it’s a load of shit but occasionally these machines do get bill jams so the banks can tell whether someone is being honest or not , most the time the Lie detector test determines That is a lie lol
Damn thats crazy
I’d take it all take a picture of whatever transaction info I could get off the atm then find the phone number on the atm and call and report it or if it’s right outside of the open bank I’d walk in and tell the first employee I see and not wait in line but politely interrupt then wait for the manager or whoever takes care of such things otherwise you’re looking at a federal crime and the feds don’t play when it comes to money
Yea this is very smart

Take the money and the bank is coming for you. Guaranteed.
Side note for those who don’t know. If you get extra money from the machine, say you get a $50, but is counted as a $20, keep it. Any money in the back machine is already accounted for. Someone miscounted that $50 and had already reconciled for it. Keeping it will never come back on you.
Those mistakes are little gifts. And if you feel compelled to give it back…. give it charity instead. The bank has already taken the loss for it.
That “back” machine? Seriously? I corrected that word THREE 🤬 times.
Lmao id it called a back machine
If that does happen, the person receiving the money has to give it back to the bank. It would be similar to a situation if a bank teller deposited someone else's paycheck into someone's account and they spent the money. They are accountable to give the money back to the bank.
Damn
Funny this happened to ME once, where back in the day when you'd deposit your check with a bank teller. I made the deposit but when my monthly statement came it, the deposit was not on there. I went right to the back and the lead teller looked into it and saw that the teller who helped me that day deposited my check into the account of the person who was in line before me. She called that customer, who said that she noticed all the money in her account, and she spent it! The bank held her accountable for it. Man that lead teller was not in a good mood that day... LOL
Man they shouldve gotten fired
LOL Imagine that customer realizing that the money was there by mistake, but spending it anyway! I don't get that.
Oh hey another story... This was probably 20 years back. There was a lady in town who noticed on a Friday, that there was some error in her checking account where she had like $15,000 extra. For a total of about $18,000 including her own money. So, on Saturday, she goes and buys a brand new car for $16,000 (back then you could). The check cleared, but after the check cleared, the bank noticed the problem. She was interviewed on TV about it and she just figured it was "her lucky day" but had no clue at that time as to how she would make it good. I never heard anything more about it. Would be interesting to know what eventually happened.
Yea she prob had to return it
Just take it, besides I don't know of ATMs which will let you draw out more than 3k anyhow and it comes out as one think wad so it's not like they'll know, even with the cameras. Plus I always stand super close to the ATM and hide how much money I'm taking with my purse so again not like anyone is gunna see
Lmao 🤣 Our atm won't even let you take out $1,000 a day
Hahaha
The ATM has your account number and there are cameras.
I wouldn't just leave the money for someone else to grab. I'd return it to the bank in person rather then have the police show up at my door.
Another option would be to deposit the excess money back into the ATM under your account. Let the bank figure it out.
Shit i wouldn't know what to do in this case then cause i wouldve just told a clerk
This happened to me. I actually returned it. At the end of the night it was still deducted from my account. They can track mistakes and overlook fixes... I had to go back in the morning and have them readjust their additional mistake.
Damn thats crazy
Wow.
If I’m at the bank I’ll explain what happened to someone that works there. If I’m at the mall I’ll tell a security guard. Either I lost my freaking vision the entire time I was at the atm or John Cena was behind me but I couldn’t see him. They was literally nobody else there besides but someone really called the cops cause freaking apparently I entered multiple debit cards but the only debit card that I had was mines
Lmao not john cene 🤣🤣🤣 Now im ready for Friday Night Smackdown
Ofcourse he would of got the one hitter quitter his ass laid the fuck out until one time showed up 💪🏽😂😂😂IL be like officer he tried to run and ran in to wall and knocked him self out what's up with my info delete that shit 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂 knowing you on camera
Ong i love it haha
I'd only take the $100. I would be tempted to take it all. But I wouldn't take it all bc I don't want to get arrested for bank robbery lol
I agree
I’d take my $100 that I needed. Not trynna get arrested.
And I would call the bank
Same
You gotta think, back in the day, no atm cameras, today, atm cameras. You would go to jail if you took more. Best bet, take what is rightfully yours, the $100. Then, call the police to be sure there is a witness that you didn't take anything else and then they will let the bank know to come and fix the issue. The bank may even be so happy with you, they'll give you a little extra... you just never know. :)
I wouldn't want to take any of it until a clerk comes out
Well, yes, if it's during business hours. After hours, I'd call the cops.
If I leave it the next person will take it, maybe hold on to it for awhile in case they realize it happened during my transaction and then give it back
I just rather turn it in immediately
Probably the safest thing to do
One time I incorrectly entered the amount I wanted. I can't remember what my options were but as I tried to punch in 30$ as soon as I hit 3 it started and I ended up with 300$. I took it it had given me overdraft. They expected me to pay it back.
Damn
I never did though
As for me I would collect all the money if I can & hand it over to the bank because with all the cameras & with my ATM information on file if I don’t I guarantee some official would be knocking on my door.
It's unethical to take money that isn't yours. I would bring the extra into the bank or wait until they reopened.
I agree its unethical
I'd take it and bring it to the bank. If I just leave it there someone else is bound to take it.
Its not your fault they took it
@DizzyDesii I'd know and feel responsible for leaving it, like an accessory to theft.
Take it and return the next day. Id hate for me to check my account and find out I owed them several thousand dollars the next day.
But if you leave with any of it, i doubt they’ll believe you brought it all back
True. The banks always closed by time i get off work. They close at freakin 4pm
Im 8 to 5 with a 30 min lunch and i do work from home for the most part but there's no time to go to the bank
Yea this is our only slow mont that we get to be 8-5. Normally we work 10-12 hours 6 days a week
Pick the money up and keep it, then report it immediately. And bring it back to the bank the next morning. ... And dress up nice and bring my resume.
Lmao they wouldn't trust that you brought back every penny
@DizzyDesii How would they not trust it? It's not like they wouldn't know. Don't ATMs have security cameras?
C
You can always give it back if ATM provider complaints.
Lmao
I'm a decent person, I wouldn't even hesitate to do the right thing... lol
Awww :)
The machine is at fault - not me.
Thanks for the present.
Afterthought: If I cash it in right away and onto my own account... I can't lose - only ''win''. Legally.
😂😂😂
